I laughed entirely too hard at this. When I was 13 I got my first job waitressing at a local diner. I'd never been out anywhere really , and all the cooks were African American guys from a really rough neighborhood. I didn't swear, and they thought it would be fun to try to "corrupt" me. This made me think of them. They were a sweet bunch of guys though, and were actually really protective over me, like I was their little sister. They didn't let anyone mess with me.
