I am thinking that the contact with the western culture and martial arts influenced very much the Taiji martial application in special in the south of China. You can find in the Spanish Verdadera Destreza ("the supreme true-real-genuine skill"- Style ) the Martial Philosophy of Yin Yang in the rapier binding techniques and circular stepping with advance and retreat and following of the sword forces. Is well known the already strong interinfluences in the Philippines Martial Arts brought by the Spaniard Mercenaries. The difference is that the Philippines recognize this and are proud with their gaining from the Spaniards and the improved adaptation for their own styles and weapons. The Yang and Sun Styles are the most distillated, modernized and westernized Taiji Styles . This explain why they have also so big success in the west. and become somehow universal. So ,a very big Thank you to the Yang Family for this beautiful contribution !
