Is there a way to treat for ulcers without Gastro Guard ?

Huge risk of false positive or false negative observation if you try gastrogard without a scope diagnosis. It's a crap shoot. Just hay before looking that day may make him seem like he's better but he's not. Or checking him on an empty stomach, potentially nthe cause in the first place might make you think gastrogard hasn't helped. Treatment is generally 30 days not 2. I scoped my horse and we found ulcers. He was absolutely not any better in 2 days of treatment. Please know there are squamous ulcers, glandular ulcers and the beginning of small intestine ulcers. Sucralfate was prescribed in my situation for intestine ulcers plus gastrogard. He needed both! And I'm a couple weeks in and he's still very sensitive but improving. Had I not scoped id have moved on! You need to rescope (after 30 days usually) to see if you actually got the ulcers cured. Do not guess. Surprised that was suggested as an option.
