you can make saline with boiled water and salt 4 c water 2 tsp noniodized salt. Boil water and keep in sterile container\

X's are hugs, O's are kisses. :) For small stuff I like to use Comfrey Root oil. This recipe has been in my family for generations, and it works wonders. 1 qt extra virgin olive oil (first press is preferable, but not necessary) 1/4 teaspoon comfrey root powder Glass jar (do not use plastic! It will ruin it!) Pour oil in jar and add powder. Shake well daily for 4 weeks, weekly thereafter. Keep out of sun and extreme temp. Can be used after the 4th week. Solution only gets stronger the longer it steeps. (Mine has been going since 2014) Apply a drop or 2 to whatever the injury is (works on anything that is not a heat burn, including broken bones) and cover. The reason you don't want it on burns is because it's an oil base. Can be used on adults, children, and animals, so long as you keep them from eating/licking it. (If ingested, it will give them a stomach ache, severity depends on amount ingested.) I gave some to my father in law for his knee replacements and he was up and moving freely in 3 weeks. :)

Forgot to add, it reduces scarring too! So your show horses will wind up with fewer marks.

I can attest to comfrey! We had a sheep get its leg torn open to the point where the owner was going to put it down but we packed it full of soaked comfrey every day and the hole was completely gone within 2 weeks.

Interesting. In our family, Os have always been hugs ( think arms around a person) and the Xs kisses.
