I was in a small traditional Korean bbq restaurant in korea when imo slapped the kimchi on the grill. I looked at her like she was crazy. Then I discovered it is the best way to eat kimchi and couldn’t believe I hadn’t done it before. Changed my life more than korea itself.

Oh how I miss Korean food! We were stationed in Seoul 81-83. Our son was born there and he ate kimchi (rinsed in water) by the time we left. To this day we ALWAYS have kimchi in the fridge!

I know there are folks who think Claire is being negative when she says "bring some dumplings!" or whatever. I just want to say that when my boys were growing up and I tried a new recipe, if I heard the words "you know what would be good with this?" I knew I had a hit on my hands, because it was good enough for them to add their own riffs. I think Claire does the same thing.

My favorite is kimchi jjigae, but I do love jeon too! I am fortunate that I can get the Korean pancake mix here in North Dakota. I also like kimchi bokkumbap. Have you ever tried sour kimchi as a pizza topping? DELICIOUS!
