Regarding some comments saying you are too fast. I am a beginner, but your speed makes me view the signs.. again and again, which I believe has helped me read and learn at a better speed. Yes, I want to be as rapid as you are; therefore I believe your speed is appropriate for those of us who have this particular learing style. Thank you for these amazing videos!! .

Omg yes!!!!! I am hearing but teach deaf children and I couldn't agree more!! I have done some of these and I believe that it helped me tremendously!! Also, I learned from recording myself that when I sign I close my eyes which causes confusion for those receiving it! (Something I'm working on) thank you for this!!

Wow I“m so glad I found your channel! Your signing is so clear and easy to follow. Of course the studio setup helps a lot and it very well lit. Please keep making these videos. I‘ve being learning ASL since November 2019 and I have a deaf tutor on iTalki. I have lessons twice a week and I absolutely love learning about deaf culture and the language. I hold a Linguistics major and I‘m an active language learner (German, French, Spanish and Hungarian).

Bravo! I am so happy to have found your channel. Your signing is very clear and the captions are very well synchronized. I like your advanced ASL themes. We are bombarded by beginning videos. There are so few intermediate and advanced videos. Please keep making advanced videos, and full phrases videos. Thank you!

thanks for this! i've been trying to learn ASL for many years, and it seems like my neurologic disabilities pose the largest barrier. i can't control my face very well and it seriously impacts my ability to express myself, but having a list of other aspects to focus on improving more is extremely helpful.

Holy heck, fantastic video! Thank you! I’ve been learning ASL for a bit now so most “tips and tricks” I feel like are old news, but I learned lots of helpful things in this video! Finger spelling loud/normal/whisper heights - that’s super cool! I’ll watch more of your videos for sure

I just saw you recommended and I'm glad I found your channgel! Ive only watched a couple videos so far but they are very helpful. I still have to watch most ASL videos on slow speed but i love that i have that option and also being able to go back and rewatch parts like you said. The hardest part of ASL for me personally is learning the right facial expressions especially because im autistic and have trouble with that in general.

I was bothering my kid yesterday about MOST of these questions. The hand against your hand will work better than bracing my finger against my wrist because feeling my tendons move makes me nauseous.

Thank you for posting your videos. I've been a on and off again asl student. I'm hearing. I've struggled with having someone to sign with and your tips help a lot. Found you through another young lady on KZfaq that suggested you and one other person. I enjoy the fact that your hard of hearing (deaf) for the fact that it forces me to actually watch your hands and face. Then I'll read the captions to make sure I'm at least in the ball park and know what I need to work on.

Decided to take off the captions and write down all the ASL I understood from the video and seeing if I could summarize each point! Tho it’s kinda hard to check afterwards because the captions are in English grammar so it’s not accurate sign for sign, but regardless. 1) Meet with family and friends once a week or twice a week to sign with them 2) Watch ASL videos on the internet 3) Important to match your face and eyebrows with your tone 4) The higher your hand is the louder it is and shorter means it’s quieter 5) Show in your face to communicate understanding when someone is signing 6) *no clue something about watching over and over and face* 7) practice signing in front of a mirror EDIT: 6) is Record yourself to watch yourself signing. I didnt do too bad. Many signs I didnt know or catch in this, but i got the jist pretty well. Yay progress!!🎉🎉

Very helpful and clear! One thing I really like about using KZfaq to help learn ASL is that I can use the < key to slow it down and the left arrow key to go back and seel the last 5 seconds over again.

Love the channel and appreciate your service to us non/new signers. Like hearing folks..we all seem to talk too FAST..consequently your actions are very rapid and kinetic. We have to read and look at your signing remember.....sooooo slow down a bit more. Be patient with us older/novice learners. We are a little intimidated by your energy sometimes..(well,at least by me). We understand that you are not a true tutorial...but we still want to learn at every encounter and observation. Thank you for your outreach to the hearing society..we really appreciate it!!!

The last one (mirror) I used to do it, but I hate myself when I'm signing just like singers hate to listen to their recording voice. And I'm both 😖😂😂 Thx a lot man! I'm so glad that I found your channel. Imma watching all your video. 🤟🏾 Thanks again! :)

I've been watching Bill Vicars videos and he is fantastic! My receptive skill are still atrocious and I'm still working on facial expressions.. I know eyebrows down for mose questions except yes/no questions it's eyebrows up. But that's the extent of my asl facial skills 😅

Awesome! Quality content. One thing though, the shutter speed in this video feels choppy. For smoother results, the settings of shutter speed might need to be adjusted to 180 (by standard). Keep up with the stuff!
