I remember the first time I saw baby play he was very young, so glad to see him back. I always cheered for him in sc2, but broodwar is in such a great state that it's the only thing I watch nowadays. I really hope he does well :)

Protoss needs some new blood at the top level. I feel like it's always the same Protoss players that get anywhere at all, and Snow and Mini feel a cut above the rest, although Snow keeps under performing, and so does Mini in a lot of cases. In many seasons it has felt like a Protoss is really struggling to get anywhere close to the top. Rain was like the Protoss god when he was active, and Mini was close to achieving something special there for a while as well, but he's been too inconsistent. We need a second Protoss revolution!

@@perfectman3077 Protoss has reached top 4 for like the last 5 ASLs and got to the finals of the previous one. Soulkey just played better than Mini and that's why he won in the finals. Mini even got ahead at points but squandered his lead by getting outplayed.

Qualifying bracket is brutal. Just add another round. Start with 48, best of 1, semi-randomly seeded based on previous season results. Then proceed with Ro24 as usual. Was hoping Calm would get in, had a really cool style last season. Looking forward to Royal, Mind, Shine, and Speed.

Hope you're able to cast some of these matches Arty! Good job by Zhanhun getting all the way to the finals in his first bracket. Cool to see some of these foreigners progressing deep in the qualifiers. Sad Flash isn't competing for another season - makes me wonder if he'll ever come back now. Also a shame about Queen, even though I don't exactly cheer for him in ASL. Just sucks for a multiple ASL winner to not make it in. Shows how brutal the qualifiers are (and even more brutal are the stupid BO1s in the first two rounds of ASL itself). And a shame Scan didn't make it. Tastosis casting ASL with Scan in it would be awesome. Great list of players overall though; should be fun. Bit Terran lopsided atm but I expect it to balance out quickly because the weaker players on that final list are mostly Terran.

Did you see his previous rounds? Before getting 0-4d he basically dominated everyone in his way. It was pretty epic especially his PvZ was basically unstoppable. And this was after not even trying to qualify for something like 10 seasons. He hadnt played competitive for like 5 years and then made it to the semis that is insane

Watch some of his pvp's. He will often be at a build order disadvantage and still just move across the map and kill his opponents. He has really good decision making and unit control where he can be down in a game and still take it. And it is pvp so can't whine about balance. He just straight up plays better with the same units, even at a disadvantage. It is a long time ago now, but reminds me of soO in SC2 where he could move across the map in a roach vs roach zvz, have less roaches, and still win with ease.

I think 32 instead of 24 would be great, yeah. Top4 seeded into the first round instead of ro16 so that would make 4 additional ASL spots availible.

@@misterkefir there are enough layers to fill the schedule, but the quality of the games have fallen dramatically in the past few years due to player age, so I won't be eagerly looking forward to the matches.
