What if i want to invite a friend to play with me? I play on Faerlina since release and we have a 55-45% H-A ratio on most days. One of my friends started a week ago and another one just today, if your rule were to be implemented then they wouldn't have been able to play with me and there would be no reason to have them come in. Your idea sounds good but it will kill servers in the long run, the only real solution is either Faction Queues which could create another problem entirely that also makes people quit or faction specific transfers but why would you transfer to another server if you're in the winning faction? Unless your server has become a PVE server with a 80-20 ratio or something retarded like that then i dont see why you would leave, maybe Blizzard could give gold, a pet or something to people who leave their server.

@@GrlmRiper lots of servers have retarded ratio and no one will do shit about it. People facing a 30 to 70 ratio will stop playing, making it worse. It's already happening on my server. Never would I ever thought I'll see blizz to stick to a principle they committed to, in spite of financial gains. And oh boy, they chose the wrong time to start.

That doesn't give "player choice", so it goes against Blizzard's GaaS model. I wouldn't do that if I were them. I'd offer a free or discounted server switch to a PvE server (once)

It wasn't against mine, i tried playing alliance just to try something new and to join a friend. But that faction pride snuck up on me. It didn't feel right from the begining then when i got to stormwind i was like "fuck this, im out". all those blue names were blood red to me.

Did you watch the same video? The way it was in retail vanilla was that the population was a quater of what it is today. And don't forget that no one knew the game back then, many people were still leveling this early on, people were also all clickers back then too. The authentic experience is never what we were going to get. Bringing bg's early will help make it so the world isn't so full of people. Blizz fucked up by making so few servers with layering, now any server with a faction imbalance and high pop is nearly unplayable because the high pop makes that imbalance so much worse in such a small map.

Telling someone to join a private server is the dumbest thing you could possibly say. The "private" servers are violating copyright and other laws dealing with intelletual property. They are "pirate" sites and anyone using them is technically an "accessory" to that piracy. It's best to just stay away altogether.

Christ, it's like you people are incapable of conducting a simple Google search, or doing ANY kind of research AT ALL into how strict Blizzard is when their copyrights are infringed. People have been fined (and a few jailed) for things as simple as trying to create Tristram in TES V: Skyrim because they used official D2 assets. "Jailed" can reference any amount of time one is sentenced, wherever they are sent. I'm not talking life sentences and death row here.

It did happen. I knew the people it happened to, though I turned down the offer to assist with their mod. And yes, the two are similar. Do you own the rights to ANYTHING in WoW? No, the ToS state that your character and items belong solely to Blizzard. Therefore, the use of Blizzard assets in private servers (which don't belong to you) is illegal. Try doing some actual reading up on matters like this before coming to the pitch and whiffing your hits.
