It is so sad and it was all predicted.. On Shazzrah EU (top 3 EU realms) in classic I reported a lvl 52 hunter at deadwind pass that was obviously botting ogres. I killed it and it kept running back killing ogres for 30 minutes. Even mind controling it of the bridge didn't work. I kept reporting it and 3 weeks later I came back it was still up and running.. I didn't even start classic TBC because I knew the bots would get out of control if they didn't care at all in classic.

Conspiracy theory: Blizzard sees real player stats are so low they know openly make mechanics for Bots because it's a very high portion of their profits because of real player diminishes.

WoW probably has more bots than actual players at this point.

Hey TBH I enjoyed farming herbs for many expansions! Until th e wow token came along and they gutted professions.

It's so frustrating when you need to quest in these areas and the bots just make it impossible to tag mobs

Bots used to be huge problem in Tibia years ago and then developers started taking the issue more seriously. There definitely still are bots around but at least like 99,5% of them are gone which is great. Rampant botting and cheating might not bother developers for some time till it strangles the life out of the playerbase.

i used to be a framing enjoyer - just fly around and mine while listening to a podcast and then blizzard decided to make professions so that you can do only the current expansion crafting content if you want and fuck the rest; o all those other expansion stuff you needed to farm out / buy? well thats too much work for a MMO if you wanna switch professions. now sit at this spot and wait for an elite with a 2h spawn timer that drops a 1% mount but its also BFA uldum so it wont always be up.

To Blizzard, bots are paying customer that has to be protected, whenever we mass report bot, they just temporarily warn or phase them to different layer. As long as bots still pay the WOW token tax, tax paying player are good player.

I remember before stopping playing TBC I got to Zangarmarsh and wanted to farm in Dead Mire for Unidentified Plant Parts to get a boost on my Cenarion Expedition Rep. The area was rather busy because it was such an obviously good spot for Mote of Life, hearb farming, UPP, and gold in general. But then I started to realise that the majority of other players farming were bots easily identifyable by their movement and such. When I finally left the area to continue questing I realised they were everywhere. The southern ridge of Zangarmarsh and the pool in Terrokar. And nothing was being done. Killed my desire completely as I felt like I was just playing with bots.

Damn the more I watch the more I hold off on playing WOW again. Was such a great game to play once. Seems like it’s impossible to play legit nowadays.

I joined back for TBC, I remember when it came out and wanted to level again with others and find a guild….. it was all 58s and the world was empty. I cancelled my account once again and haven’t looked back.

Seeing shit like this and with the boost just further cements the idea that I will never touch TBC Classic.

This is still going on in retail. In the beginning of 9.1 I saw about 20 druids stacked on top of each other farming herbs in Maldraxxus several times.

When checking my own server which is high pop i dont see these amounts of 58-62 in any of the instance zones

Botting like the moon bois in BFA still happen in retail, as feral though. Even though I think it'd be fairly easy for Blizzard to detect multiboxing druids, they still run around in their farming spots, in their extremely obvious patterns, for months after I first reported them, while farming Smorgas and Tahonta for a period.

Human GMs could easily keep this in check, but that would lose Blizzard money, twice. Hiring personal and not getting the money from bot boosts an subscribtion. They could also easily ban people that bought gold, for maybe a week or a month plus taking away all the gold they bought, or everything they bought with it. People will just stop RMT if they lose their real money.

The average classic player has long quit. The average classic player enjoyed farming gold, doing professions, occasionally PvPing, and doing a bit of raiding here and there. The old wow playerbase was divided somewhat around the lines of: 1. "Casuals" leveling, farming, doing professions and reputations. Sometimes taking part in easier endgame content. This group used to be the biggest and least vocal one. You didn't really notice their presence online. 2. "Normal" raiders, who eventually clear all raids. They take their time and might get stuck on the last most difficult raid of the expansion. Often they also take part in the content that group 1. do. 3. PvPers. These guys just want to PvP. The less they have to do the other content, the happier they are. 4. Harcore raiders. These guys live and breath raiding. Parses are their life. They get every single consumable in the game for even a 0.5% dps increase. Their way of playing is so expensive, there is no way they can get the gold for it by "farming". These guys either sell boosts to finance their drug addiction, or just buy the gold with real money. 5. Whales who just buy gold off websites or with tokens, and buy carries to have good gear and drip. Now bots have driven the largest part of the community out of business. The guys who used to farm for our mats which we bought off the AH. The people who populated the world. The main content of those guys has been driven to the ground by bots driving down prices of mats, while lowering the value of gold too. So you get less gold for honest farming, and it's less valuable too. In TBC the only people playing the game, are hardcore raiders who are still lacking BiS, and like 5 PvPers playing arena. With new raids unlocking, some of the normal raiders come back to clear it once or twice. In retail it is even worse. The bulk of normal raiders are driven out of the game by shit systems they have zero interest taking part in, but are forced to grind anyway. The PvPers have quit for the same reason, and they have even less interest in covenant campaigns than the PvErs. The casual crowd are so shafted, there is no money to be made by grinding gathering professions. The only moneymakers are boosting and AH flipping. Only the boosters and the boosted remain.

Oh.. I thought these bunch of feral druids what I've met at hellfire peninsula spot, where i did quests with shadow elementals - are human players. What a $hit.

I actually mine on retail to relax after work, I'm an anomaly I guess but I just find a lot of the wow zones peaceful and it's a mindless objective I can achieve while I watch videos to unwind. It does tend to net me some gold aswell so that's a nice bonus. :)

Well that means that the endgame will be the same Uber Tristram/Diablo (unless they decide to make seasonal events or something), which is only killable by 4 classes and speccs which are Javazon, Werewolf LL AS Druid, Zealadin and a completely maxed out disgusting Fury Barb. Furthermore it seems Blizzard loves botters/cheaters, since they kept the ("I click a button and everything of value dropping before it even reached the ground is mine hehe I am so good at this game I am a cheating mastermind using pickit and 100000 bots") FreeForAll loot table, which will end up ruining the game and the econemy and most important the value of items and group play in general (again and even delaying the ladder release for them to take the dust of their precious cheating tools isn't that nice of Blizzard =) ). What a good way to scare away new players POGGERS.

Boosty boys indirectly give money back to Blizzard, you could consider them as 'unregulated contractors' for the blizzard company. To max out your income as blizzard you only ban a certain number and they pay you $15/mo extra alongside $40 for shadowlands. They bring the bot up to level 60, get the stuffs to make them enough to make the bot worth it and you ban em making at least $55 within a few days per run. One of the most stupid ad models I have seen that somehow would work.... if there was a player base anymore.

At least when you play on a PvP server you can kill the bots.

The fact that there were 2-3 PAGES of Teebu's on the AH, and therefor only being priced for 280 gold in a version of vanilla (Classic) that was WAY easier to make gold than any other is insane. On Nostalrius, my guild was one of few to get Teebu's to drop in MC, and we sold it for 10k gold. And believe me, relative to Nost, on Classic a lot more greens/greys dropped from mobs, and in general it was much easier to amass gold. So 10k on Nost was a literal generational fortune.

It drives up the engagement numbers and that looks great when they need to present it for the investors, which is frankly more valuable than the money the boosty bots bring in. This is why they never got banned.

on my server adamantite ore is going for 50silver because of the bots. feliron ore for over 1g. im currently buying all the adamantite waiting for the market and bots to explode. blue gems are like 8g each but living rubies, they are 50g

I've tried exchanging gold on retail for TBC gold on my retail server w/o success but more power to those who have succeeded. So yeah, I farm. If I don't have to compete then I'm farming the SW of Netherstorm for cloth and scryer tokens. If it's busy then I'll farm Strath (prot Pally).

I had a boy in a dungeon I was running in retail, the idiotic bot ran into a group of mobs in an empty room and only healed the tank and himself so the other two DPS just kept on dying. We died about 4 times before we could get to the 3rd boss it was the most embarrassing thing ever, I’ve never seen a healer that bad before

Its gotta be a server thing, cause I never saw this on TBC Pagle. There are a lot of druid bots on retail though. At least there was in BFA cause I remember killing them in warmode pretty often in Nazjatar lol

BC was the game I nearly failed senior year of highschool for and I loved EVERY second of my time playing it. Despite this, videos like this one make me glad I made the decision to not come back to the game when BC rereleased. Bots and multi-boxers were a thing back then but not at this level...Couldnt imagine farming all of those elemental winds for raid mats with this amount of bots.
