I agree with you on Snape. He was a character that kept you guessing on his motives, which side he was on right up to the final book. An amazing character.

Listening to Asmon talking about books made me realize how grateful I am for my childhood. I can't imagine today's kids waiting for their turn to read the book from the only kid in your circle that was lucky to buy a copy. That was something truly beautiful in a way.

I remember playing harry potter on playstation 1. I've always wanted a modern harry potter game thats open world like this one. Hope they deliver.

The gaming industry has left me so skeptical over the years, but I must admit, this looks pretty good. I hope they don't rush it, and execute it properly.

I'm hoping that Hogwarts Legacy is actually able to live up to the hype. If it does it will likely end up as one of my favorite games.

Dude it would be so sick if your quests, missions, sidequests or cinematics were different based off wich house you picked during the sorting hat process. I'm so hyped, this could be an absolute gem of a game.

Just want to relay for the people wondering: the devs has confirmed that the game will have no co-op or online play at all. It is purely meant to be a tripple A singleplayer openworld action RPG, with a focus on you and your story. Which would be impossible if you shared it with other people. You still get to experience meeting awesome new people when arriving at hogwarts though just in the form of dynamic and well written NPC’s that all have their own stories.

The best part of HP movies was the casting. All the actors really aged well like they stepped right out of the books.

This could be a gateway for people who were never interested in the books to get immersed in the harry potter universe. Looks super promising so far

Say what you will about Harry Potter but I grew up with the books and the movies so even if I can see the flaws in the writing and all that shit, it still holds such a special place in my heart. God this looks like everything I dreamed of as a kid from a HP game. I hope its good!

The preview kept me going: "how much more can they put into this game?!" Insanely hyped. I am sad nobody has given Lord of the Rings this treatment. The scope and sense of detail coupled with these graphics and the animation. My god.

While I might be highly sceptical of this project, I think there's still potential. HP is a powerhouse of an intellectual property and there's plenty of money to be made, so a game like this could get properly funded. And since the franchise has so many fans in every walk of life, there's good chance of building a really strong and talented team of developers that are also super passionate about the project.

This game looks so good that it’s like they made a game from 2030, this game is a great example of what developers should push to do. Time wasted on making micro transactions takes time away from making a real good game like this one. This game will sell for years just like Skyrim!!!

If there's seriously no microtransactions, then at this point I don't care if there's some frame rate issues or graphics issues, sure I'd like that to not be the case and just saying it can be fixed later doesn't help... but so long as the game is good, none of those issues will matter.

Imagine if they made pvp quidditch for this game, and you could have whole teams of players. Then have tournaments and such, and being able to have team practice/scrimmage. I've always wanted something like that ever since playing the quidditch game that was released years ago.

This game was on my radar already when it was first revealed, but I was kinda like "cool, I'll look out for more, could be promising"... now, it's my most anticipated game. I'm hopeful this game is a huge success and if they don't have (or add) multiplayer elements in the game - like maybe the dungeons - then maybe they'll have them in a sequel, if they make one.

10:25 i remember a few years ago, i had a loooong talk with some friends on the whole "wands" thing, whe talked about how Hagrid had a wand inside his umbrela, and we started designing knights tha had Swords with wands as the grip, axes and othe things like bows and crossbows... Imagine a fully armored magical knight with a bigass sword that unleashes spells, maybe after piercing the enemy they just cast a bombarda os something like that

As a HUGE Harry Potter fan this is a dream come true i really do hope this game succeeds and they can pull it off because so far it looks soo beautiful and amazing

My family were really poor growing up which meant barely seeing parents because they were working all the time to make ends meet. So usually extended family helped raise me and my sister when they had time, but other times, we just stayed home and entertained ourselves. Well, I begged my parents for a PS1 and was happy to make it be my birthday and Christmas present rolled in one. The only game I got for it was Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone because I loved the book. Spending days upon days playing that game has legit become a core memory for me, so seeing this and hearing Asmon echo my excitement and awe made me really tear up. I can’t wait to get into this world. It looks incredible.

I'm with Asmon, I swear all I heard about this game after its original reveal was that it was gonna be an online game, at the very least where you could see other players going around and interact with them.

This just feels like it has its basics as a game well sorted out. I'm hyped. Still not preordering, but hyped AF.

I am curious how far the customization option in this game, like can we craft our own broom and wand, how big the open world is, how much the crafting system affect the gameplay. Since lets be honest, crafting can be hit or miss example like in elden ring. Overall pretty optimistic with this project

Heck yeah, this game looks awesome. I just hope the game isn't too linear in the storytelling and moving around the castle lets you stumble upon random events, however small they may be. And I hope the classes requires your attention. Maybe you get exams etc, based on what you've learned in class (with the possibility to fail). I wanna actually feel like I'm a student there!

14:20 I don't understand why you immediately thought about microtransactions when seeing this talent upgrade screen. Every single game (that's not online) I've played that have you leveling up a character's abilities doesn't have microtransactions regarding these abilities. Like Witcher, Dark Souls. It's not the abilities part where microtransactions would shine. It's usually things like DLC, skins, unique weapon and armors, etc

Imagine a game mode where you can freely go and explore those places, separate from the story... Those are really wonderfully detailed! Maybe throw in the puzzles and such - would make for a lot of fun by itself. I am really looking forward to this!

This makes me want to go back and rewatch all the old movies, so I can say I finally watched them all back to back without 1-2 year gaps between each movie, so I finally get the entire story. I've seen the movies, but I didn't grow up with it. But this makes me want to understand more, so I am ready when this game comes out.

I'm really pumped for this. I never read the books, but I thoroughly enjoyed all the movies. They released as I grew up through my teens, and I think the HP universe is pretty deeply ingrained in pretty much anyone in the 18-35 age bracket, fan or not. This looks like an incredibly faithful recreation of the books/movies, and will probably be a ton of fun

I came expecting another mobile game but instead I just came.

See that's the cool thing about growing up with a big 'almost' universally well received thing; it only takes a decade for someone who fell in love with the thing as a teen to grow up and want to make their own take on it- and hopefully the desire to make something worthwhile comes with that. Now sure there's some god awful cringe in the HP fandom... But this looks like it caught the imagination of the folks making it, and if that real love for this world goes into the crafting of this game, and the systems work half as good as this games graphics look, this might be a contender with Elden Ring for GotY. High-Medium Hype, this might be gold.

I’m actually so excited for this game(hopefully it lives up to its my expectations) and online play would be amazing, if they had a common room or like the dining room where maybe you could also duel a player or do quests/challenges together.

I want Hogwarts to be completely realistic. I dont give a shit about anything else or the exterior, I want to be able to walk from one side of the castle to the other in real time however long that would take- the prefects bathroom, the great hall, the potions classroom, the moving stairs. All of it. An obnoxious amount of realism and detail.

I haven't played a lot of HP games, but HP2 The chamber of secrets game on the gamecube and PS2 had a lot of the features this game has. Story was just the movie one, and the spells were very limited, but you could explore both inside and outside the castle and fly around the exterior on the broom whenever you wanted between classes and quests. Looking back, it really was a solid game and I'd say it's underrated. Can't say anything about the rest, but really exited for this release!

Man i remember when the first Harry Potter movie came out, it was my birthday and my aunt had made a Harry Potter themed birthday, with like cakes buns and drinks with food coloring in them to look like something from the movies, and candy etc and then ending with us going to the cinema to watch the movie, anyone else wish they could be a student at Hogwarts as a kid? 😂

the world looks amazing. i just hope the combat has some depth to it, not asking for a soul's game level of difficulty but just something that isn't mindless.

hagrid had his wand fused with his umbrella by dumbledore and thats why he can cast spells with it so i wouldnt be surprised if there are different types of weapons like maybe staffs. it does say solve puzzles created by merlin so maybe there is like a prize at the end of them all getting his wand which he might of turned into a staff or someshit who knows

This actually looks fantastic! Also, I can definitely see a roguelite in this environment being amazing! There is definitely enough lore and variety to make it Hades style

I think they should really make an MMO Harry Potter game that is somewhat similar to Animal Crossing. You hang out with your friends in Hogwarts, attend lessons, decorate the dormitory, craft potions and furniture, play Quidditch... Something that really gives you that immersion and community feeling.

Awesome to hear Asmond appreciate the genius of Severus Snape. I don't hear people talk about it much but I couldn't agree more. In the books he is a fascinating double agent character and then in the movies Rickman brought him to life in an incredible way.

I’m guessing there may be some sort of multiplayer mechanics in the game at some point. I say that because I believe most single player games these days have some sort of online mechanic. Like how on Devil May Cry 5, it’s primarily a single player game but had a few stages where another player would be there fighting with you. That’s just my guess.

the opportunites for expansion is what really interests me... imagine having the tri wizard tournament, being able to visit ilvermorny, beauxbatons, durmstrang, brazilian, japanese high schools.... if they do this well imagine the WOW killer being Harry Potter.

This is one of the most fleshed out and detailed world I’ve ever seen. This could be one of the best single player game ever made. So much potential for multiplayer to be implemented as well. They can take this so far it’s insane.

Lip syncing is still a major hurdle, it's either done by hand, pre-determined with a program or motion captured. You'd think motion capture would be the standard but sometimes it's way too smooth, it's weird

At 14:15 when Asmon stated about the gacha system, I was afraid of that as well- that the game is going to be filled with microtransactions.... On a very recent article, WB games came out and stated clearly that the game will not have microtransactions. Now, I hope that this is true because for example Activision promised that there will be no microtransactions in the new Crash Team Racing and when the game came out and got high reviews, after a month, they sneakily added microtransactions ( then again, what did you except from scummy ActivBlizzard?). I hope that their statement stays true when the game comes out

I see some graphical glitches already (21:28 look at the river, 22:42 snow on the cloak), but i understand - it's a demo. I just fear we will get a different game in the end. As it happened with Watch Dogs, Cyberpunk. Hopefully they take their time and deliver what we are seeing right now

I agree with making a Hogwarts online lobby that people can hang out it. It would be a massive hit because a large contingent of Harry Potter fans love to imagine living in that world. That's why the Harry Potter amusement park is very popular.

I had once gone back to play my old copy of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. While you could look at all of it as super easy and basic, I still see all the potential in it as I'm hoping to see here. If they give us Quidditch, then I'm hoping it has the freedom to win or lose them, a challenge for fleshed out content. Or Dueling, have like a Dueling club for that matter. Overall, I've always seen the potential in Video Games with the HP universe, so I'm having at least a lingering hope for this game. It will be scary though, as if this game fails to deliver, I fear we will never see what we've all been dreaming of to come again. I don't mean no pressure, but I wish the Dev's all the luck and determination to make a game for the fans before they make the game for a paycheck.
