I don't mind if they honestly think the game is mid, you can have that opinion, not everyone is required love this game, but tell us why, show us, give us something objective, unbiased, based of its merits. Its just really dissapointing to watch someone get bullied, rush to make sure they are ok, only for them to limp over to the bullies and try to be their friend so they won't get hurt again. I just read the last HP book a couple of weeks ago, and the physical description of goblins the books gave didn't actually remind me all that much about the infamous Jewish stereotype: that was mostly from the movies that took many other liberties from the source material. (For example Horace Slughorn was described being fat and bald, and having a mustache, and that's not Jim Broadbent's character at all; he looked more like the actual Slughorn in Hot Fuzz than in the Harry Potter movies.)

So. As a woman who has grown up playing video games her whole life~ I've never once felt like my gender made me a target for hate or violence or whatever. If anything, men thought it was awesome that I had an interest in things they liked. And quite frankly, women portrayed in video games were way more badass back then~ NOT playing a victim on the rise, just unapologetically living their lives exactly how they wanted. And that was honestly the most freeing thing to see as a young adult.

I don't know wether this is true, but to me she sounded like she just wanted to align with the views of the people that attacked her. She said exactly what they wanted to hear.

Guarantee at least one of the two people featured on that channel didn't want to mess with the game in the first place even though they got a review copy, and now that they have an excuse not to do it, they took advantage of the drama and copped out of actually doing a proper review. "The game sucks anyways, so we're just gonna take this freebie and not hold up our end of the bargain."

When people see an "analogous jew" in the goblins, it says a lot more about their own antisemitism than that of the goblins' creators. Also, creators puck their audience, they groom them, they claim to support one cause or another, and when anything they do goes against the audience they have cultivated, their audience will instantly become toxic. As an outsider looking in, I would highly recommend not using one's source of entertainment or income as a platform for activism of any kind.

It really brings you back to the school days of bullying. Your reaction is fuel for the bullies. Pay them as little attention as possible, they will get bored and stop. ESPECIALLY since this drama is online, it is much easier to avoid than irl. You can simply block users and delete messages on stream. Youre also kind of insulting your own fans because this was not a Hogwarts Legacy review and they were expecting one. They found the game mediocre which wouldve been especially interesting to see the arguments from somebody who finds the game mediocre when most people really liked it. I do have a sneaking suspicion that they found it mediocre to limit the bullying like "see? we dont like it anyways haha, pls dont bully us" as in really enjoying the game would have been more insulting to those people.

GFR always tried catering towards this type of people after the channel started to boom and they now and then get some blows because of that, I think things will just get worse as time goes on because more and more of these things will probably happen. Toxic lunatics will flood their channel and bully/harass them even harder next time because they saw that they "won" this time with this video that they made, even defending them at some point and saying that love them, we all know that this is their job but this will not be sustainable in the long run for their mental health or for their channel.

It's really disappointing that the trolls were so successful here. For my situation, I have never purchased a brand new game for myself at full price. But because after watching people play the game, after watching you play it specifically and seeing the entire story, along with the hate for the game I had to buy it. And it's a beautiful game I love it not regretting my purchase one bit.
