@brandonwilliams4050
@brandonwilliams4050 Жыл бұрын
It’s disgusting, but not entirely unexpected considering the details of how the incident unfolded, and I can understand why people are defending her, even if I think they are absolutely in the wrong. There are those who have a very vindictive mindset-they, like most of us online, have dealt with trolls in one form or another and her actions make them cheer at the thought of taking revenge/lashing out at a troll. What they fail to understand is the wide reaching consequences of such actions or maybe they’re low empathy and just don’t care. Others are (and I don’t use this word lightly) white knights. They aren’t simps per se, but they feel like women online have to put up with an unfair load of crap, and they either applaud her “taking a stand” or just feel like she should get a pass due to her “unique burden” the way you give a person in chronic pain a pass for being an asshole. I actually watched a big streamer (who I will not name) defend her actions using this logic, so it’s definitely something people think. What I love about Asmongold is that he hunted down each of these justifications and methodically tore them to shreds.

Interesting that a case like this happens a short time after the 2k$ dono from Nogla to Terroriser in which Terroriser received an anon dono of 2k and went on to check the email of the donating person only to find out it had been his friend and publicly announce that just moments after on the very same stream. Sure we can say that's whatever between friends but the point stands that streamers can just casually have access to people's informations like name and email even through anonimate donos and are apparently free to expose that knowledge to their viewers both without consent and without repercussions. Expect more stuff like this to happen in the near future since it's clear Twitch doesn't seem to understand the implications.

Perhaps but definitely if he has proof of damages. It alone is definitely wrong but idk if it's illegal or not. But if you have real proof of harassment coming from it and can prove it damaged you you would probably have a real case. People calling you, your work, your family. People making threats to your safety. Just on it's own I think it's a legal gray area. But doing it with malicious intent to call for harassment and possibly violence might cross the line into illegal. Personally I think it should be illegal to do it at all. But there is a middle ground here. Should it be illegal if you give your friend someone address you don't like? Idrk.. maybe if they say they have the intent to do something to them.. but as far as twitch is concerned this is highly dangerous and should not be treated lightly. The fact that twitch donations even give the streamer access to your information is a problem. Twitch should not be complacent in that it's a huge problem and that information should not be public to the streamer. It should be saved on twitch so they will have a record just in case if something happens you can access it with a warrant for the information. The reason regular buissneses like Walmart can have your information is because they protect it and don't publish it. Imagine if target dossed you because you said the bathroom was gross or something. That's basically what this is and twitch needs to take action on their end to protect their customers from their subcontractor employees. I personally think what she did cross the line into illegal insight harassment and possibly violence. If he has evidence of damages I think she should have to pay for it. Like I said legally it's a gray area but when you have platform like that and call for repercussions it should cross into illegal. I don't think anyone should be able to give out your address to the public like that even the news. I don't like it on principle even if you commit a crime they shouldn't try and fuel harassment. In cases like this tho the biggest problem to me is that twitch is allowing it and then protecting it. A donation should not give the streamer any of your information. It should be encrypted through the sight. Maybe if twitch is going to hold themselves accountable and treat them like employees it might be different. Then you could sue twitch directly for it happening on their platform from their employees. Just like a Walmart employee or something. If you're making it possible to happen you're partly responsible for it..

@@haggispixie yeah that's my point to is that doxxing in and of itself is not illegal however if it inspires or insights harassment and threatens the safety of those in question it then becomes illegal. I think they could probably argue that she did it with malicious intent and if they have any evidence at all of anyone being harassed over it it would probably be enough evidence.. could honestly go either way in court tho.. she has lots of money for a lawyer and they might be able to use superior legal representation to bully it into going away.. it's a very new thing for old judges to deal with. They don't even know the terms doxxing. Or know how twitch works. Or know that she's obviously cheating in the game which would make you expect to be called a cheater.. the judge for RuneScape josh didn't even know what download meant 🤦🏻‍♂️ but as far as twitch is concerned this makes them look really bad. The fact that they're even allowing the streamer to get your information like that is just ridiculous and needs to be encrypted. Depends on what he's asking for damages and what resources he has to make twitch pay. What the guys at Twitch don't realize is that now less people will donate resulting in them losing money for absolutely no compensation. Other streamers like her might also end up thinking they can get away with it. So besides it being absolutely disgusting, it's also not worth it from an economical point of view. One of the greatest small brain moves by Twitch in a long time.

they make loads from hot tub streams anyway, they don't care. They don't care about less people donating to gaming because some Onlyfans gamer thot will cover all that.

My concern with this situation boils down to the issue of Twitch proving to the customers and concent creators that there TOS is pretty much Toothless and with the right attributes which could be; making x amount of money for Twitch, how much public influence the individual has or something as simple as having a good sob story. It could be all of the above or none of the above and that uncertainty makes it worse for everyone, both the customers and content creators. Beyond that issue, the way in which Nadia casually and frankly thoughtlessly discloses the victims private infomation suggests but DOESN'T prove that this is repeated behaviour and this is simply the first time she has done so publicly and possibly wasn't aware the public backlash she'd receive considering she is still fairly new to Twitch Fame. could also be that she is just blind to her own actions and is unaware that they have consequences. either way not good.

What's really alarming to me is that a donate provide the streamer with your personal information. Twitch needs to be responsible for it. That info should be encrypted through twitch and saved only there. That way if it is needed it can be gotten through a warrant. If they're allowing her access to that information then the streamers need to be treated like employees not sub contractors. Just like at Walmart if an employee takes your information or if Walmart dossed you they're responsible for it. It's their store, their platform, their employees who did it under their watch. Twitch needs to take better precautions for this happening. No way it's the first time it's been a problem. It's problematic enough that it can even happen through their sight structure. No reason why it can't be encrypted between twitch and the streamers. As long as twitch still has the actual record it's fine. That's all they need for their end on taxes and records. The streamer doesn't need to know who it came from. Just need to know it was in dono form for their taxes and shit. All of this can be done safely and just as effectively with it encrypted. And situations like this would be avoided completely. People should never doss people like that but if it's possible it will happen. They need to be more responsible and make it impossible to happen like that. It's absolutely foreseeable to happen just like that. No way they didn't think it could happen or be a wide spread problem. It just shows how incompetent twitch management is. To not recognize this as a problem from the beginning 🤦🏻‍♂️

She said the person’s name and said “For people who wants to know” which means she is enabling people to actually find the named person. And will now affect the named person’s life. Like imagine if someone actually does something bad to the named person. She is literally endangering someone’s life over a comment about her cheating in a VIDEOGAME.
