This reminds me of those Great Depression cooking videos with that one old lady that passed away. She would make recipes with things kinda like that cause they had limited food items. I remember she made a cracker pie that was suppose to taste like apple pie

I love those bowls, and they make really cool sounds! Loved the water pouring and sugar dropping, it sounds amazing against the hard plastic, I could listen to that crunchy sugar sound for hours.

I apologize in advance if this has already been made.. but have you heard of chocolate mayonnaise cake! This totally reminded me of it. In Chicago we have a restaurant called portillos and they are known for their mayo cake 🥰

So this is like a spice cake, basically. It's a carrot cake without the carrots. Sounds like it would be delicious. :)

this reminds me of my dads tomato 🍅 soup cake. he liked us to make it for him at Christmas time. he passed away in 2010, his birthday was a week from now so I think I will make that in his honor. I think it is very similar to the ketchup cake.

I'm glad the comments are back because I loooooove your cooking and sandwich videos! I was dying over your christmas crack toffee dessert, it looked so good. In elementary school, we read a book or story about tomato cake that had tomato sauce or paste. Its been like 30 years so I cant remember lol. I ended up making it with my mom and I remember it was pretty good. I've also made a mayonnaise cake which was good as well.

Put 1 or 2 tablespoons of mayo in box cake mix. It'll make your cake so light and fluffy! So ketchup doesn't surprise me lol

I love, love, love 🥕 cake. It makes sense it would taste like carrots, because carrots are sweet and ketchup has a lot of sugar.

On the topic of ketchup: do more people refrigerate or not refrigerate their ketchup? I grew up in a house that always kept in in the fridge but i know others don’t.

Mayonnaise cake is highly requested in my family. It’s delicious! Very moist. Mayo is mostly eggs so it makes the best cake. I make it quite a few times a year.
