This is a morning espresso on the Delonghi Dedica ASMR video. In this video, I use the Timemore Chestnut Nano grinder, a Normcore bottomless portafilter, a WDT tool to distribute the grinds, and a precision 51mm tamper. Beans used were Dinzler Roma.

the delonghi machine is still expensive tho, and with a good filter you can always improve the quality of the expresso
@friendly421
@friendly421 8 ай бұрын
I think the other expensive coffee machine are expensive because they help you gain time and be more clean . You don't need it to grind it yourself each time you want a coffee, put it in the machine, get coffee powder spilled everywhere in the process and then huge force to get your coffee done. You put your grains for a whole amount of time in the basket. You put your cup of coffee and you get your coffee right away with real grains and not with aluminium capsules (which are limited in flavors and a too monopolistic market). With these expensive machines, which should be a minimum solid for all these tasks and compact for customers, we can have a personalised coffee. Personally, I remember going to the coffee maker and choosing the type of grain, the the intensity of roasting the beans (low, medium, high) and the very thin powder cumulated with the freshness of the coffee made in front of you. When you get home, you can put jasmine petals or orange peels in the coffee to have the flavor you want. Nothing to do with these chemical flavored aluminium capsules you buy in the near supermarket. Well with these expensive machines (automatic grain grinder aluminum/inox materials combined with compact size and last technologies like a screen tactile buttons and use of little amount of grain to get an expresso not the whole pack you just bought to get an expresso ) you get a non equivalent experience!

@@friendly421the best semi auto machines still require an external grinder (because no integrated grinder can match their quality) They are expensive because unlike cheaper models like the delonghi they come with : Dual boilers PID systems Far superior steaming Extraction manometers Better build quality (not plastic garbage like breville and delonghi stuff) Maybe I'm missing other features because my machine is an old La Pavoni. But that's pretty much why the price is so different.

Great video that shows that you don’t need to spend more than a 1000 dollars on a decent espresso setup. I just got the Delonghi Dedica and I am quite happy with it. Would you recommend switching the portafilter and basket the machine comes with for the one you use? It looks cool but is there a big difference in taste?
@TomsCoffeeCorner
@TomsCoffeeCorner Жыл бұрын
Oh yes, huge difference in taste! If you use a proper basket then you get a much different, better extraction, because the puck itself creates the opposing force to the inrushing water, and the extraction is better therefore. But, you will need a proper grinder.

Hello again Tom! I have a delonghi stylosa EC260. With non-pressurized portafilter and rancilio steam wand as you recommend. I always buy pre-ground coffee at a coffee shop. and I would like to do it myself, what grinder do you recommend for the stylosa that really works, preferably manual (without breaking the bank). Since I think that having a grinder I can try it with different levels of grinding. Since currently the coffee that I buy already ground, my machine throws it away very quickly. I think this prevents me from making really good coffee, because I buy 250-500g of coffee from the wrong grind and it doesn't get the best use out of it.

These beans either have some robusta in the blend or/and the roast is less than 6 days old. Thats a lot of crema. These little machines sometimes are also set to very high pressure which creates too much crema on fresh beans. With that said. The shot looks pretty. Extraction on the bottomless looks good. It is real espresso. And if it tastes good... then it is good!
