My daughters love your story telling, and they use these videos to get to sleep practically every night. They would like to suggest that you do Rapunzel and make a new video. They do love your channel! A note from my girls: We love your storytelling! Please make a new video (we've probably been through each story ten times now, but that's probably not a bad thing!) Grace, I have no issues with the volume of your voice. I missed that sound so much while you were away that it is inconsequential to anything you do now. You were one of the first people I ever listened to long before you moved to Ireland and back to Texas. I couldn't be happier if your next video was of you reading the classified section of your local paper or a page from a farmers almanac. My only issue is that I am in Australia, it's about 2 pm and I'm listening to you when I should be doing a spreadsheet here at work. The best part of the comments section is I can look busy if I type slowly......

My son has FX and is non verbal he was having trouble going to bed. I saw this and clicked on it because this is one of his favorite stories. I put it on his tv and he was laying there listing. He fell a sleep. Thank you!

Actually, the difference of volume is what makes me like your videos, people usually makes asmr just whispering or with soft voice, but the your volume changes cause me tingles.

For those wondering about the whole part where the lady tells Jack the "backstory" about the Giant stealing the kingdom from Jack's father, this particular version is heavily derived from (but not identical to) the very first published version of the story by Benjamin Tabart. I'm not sure exactly how the Tabart version evolved into this version, but this is the version you'll find in Andrew Lang's Fairy Books collection. Despite being the first version published, it is widely believed that Tabart invented the entire backstory section in order to moralize the story, with the later more familiar version published by Joseph Jacobs in "English Fairy Tales" being closer to the oral sources of the tale, with Jack being more of a classic trickster character.

I've never heard this story with the "Jack's mother is displaced royalty and the giant's castle is really hers" angle. I only heard it with Jack being a thief, taking things from the castle that were rightfully the giant's.
