It is hard to let people go to live their separate lives once we get attached. That's also why I prefer reading longer novels instead of short stories. If I like the characters then I get attached and I want the story to continue for as long as possible. Separation feels a bit painful. You have many deep ponderings and insights. I can relate as I always felt like the philosopher of my friend group. Well done on the finals.
