NOTE: I ramble about Aldi Nerds for the first part. The talk about humor begins around the 8:00 mark.
Someone asked me quite a while back to make a video about learning to be funny. This video addresses the topic of humor. It's super rambly and just a stream of consciousness. I'm not sure that I answered the question, but I tried.
Long story short - I don't think you can LEARN to be funny. You either are or you aren't. Even if you aren't funny, you can always appreciate people who are. I hope you enjoy it. :)

I work in an ER at a children’s hospital. Needless to say not every kiddo we treat is a success story. 😔. I think a lot of us use humor as a buffer. Something to try & break up the seriousness of situations. How else can a person deal with something as tragic as death in a child multiple times a week or even day. I loved Robin Williams. This man thrived off of making others laugh. Meanwhile behind closed doors he was dealing with his own demons that sadly won the battle. I think a lot of your fans truly enjoy the humor you bring to your channel. A way for us to escape the every day trials of life. The characters you have created remind me of Carol Burnette. I loved her show & comedy. Thank you for your channel & all the laughs you have created for us fans. The use of your imagination as a child has helped you be the creative person you are today.

I love hearing the reference to River Road and Holiday (however brief)! You light up when you talk about your creations (and rightfully so). River Road got me through the beginning of quarantine last year. I cried with you, laughed with you, and felt like I lived it when I couldn't interact with any other humans. I can't wait to hear Holiday and to see Aiden in this new context!

You have become my favourite neighbour, well at least I wish you were as I live in the UK! You’ve inspired me to start, or at least have a go, at crafting.....which I really enjoy. At night, I listen until I fall fast asleep. You should be available on prescription! I agree with your theory on being funny. I’m always trying to be amusing ....kinda in order to hide what I really feel and also to make others laugh and just escape reality for a bit. Keep up the fantastic work. 💕💕

I think I am funny, but spent the first 2/3 of my life being too shy to express myself. I was the kid in high school that always “fed” the hilarious one-liners to someone more popular. They would say it out loud and get the credit for it. Your video reminded me of study hall at round tables in the library. My friend dropped her pencil and I dared her to do a ballet plié to pick it up. It was the most hilarious thing ever and it took everything I had not to laugh out loud.

I’m in that group! To be honest, the rules aren’t reflective of the group because it is full of dare I say “Karen’s” and drama over random judgey Aldi posts 🤣 sometimes I just laugh at the posts and comments made!! Aldi Aisle of Shame is a good one. Essentially what I’m saying is, the complaints you see here about the groceries you buy are about the same complaints you’ll see there. Or how this aldi has this product but the one down the street doesn’t and they want to siege the store!!

My ex husband and his entire family have that "dog gone" funny since of humor. He used it to keep from showing emotion or intimacy. I think the whole mixed up family did. When I would try to talk serious he made a lame joke. I never had one of those laugh so hard you can't breathe moments with him.

Did you use your real name or SouthernASMRS name? Sometimes these groups don't allow accounts unless they are "real" names. Just start your own Aldi Super Fan group. We'll all join you!
