The advice I’ve heard from very young was (life’s too short) and it’s the deepest and most important advice ever. I’ve been around a lot of death, also life (my kiddo growing up) and in a blink of an eye life’s going fast. Just enjoy the small things in each day. Like you get to be cozy each night in your bed, it’s my favorite part of the day. Tucking my kiddo in, then laying down in my own bed just at peace that we had this day. Good or bad. It’s our first day this far in my life. And I’m blessed for that

Oh my…lol…I NEVER took advice when I was younger, because I thought I knew better…Lol. Let me tell you, now that I’m older, I totally UNDERSTAND that advice and wish I would have listened! I don’t like to give advice (because I know people won’t listen..lol) BUT when you get advice, try and rationalize it. I think most advice comes from a good place. I might actually do a reply video to this, because you bring up such good points! Love you and want all the best for you!!!❤

Hi Haley, thank you for this oh so real video ! I’m in my 20s and I’m an anxious girlie too, I was literally finishing your sentences when you were talking about overthinking and control lol. I think that it’s really easy for people that overcame these difficult times to give advice because when you’re feeling like there is no hope and when you’re truly going through it, it’s almost like it’s unnecessary because you won’t even believe what they say to you. Like you said, we really have to experience the waves to really understand, and there is no rush for us to understand the outcome or the “lesson” that we’re supposed to understand. Every hardship that I’ve endured led me to where I am now, so I’m grateful for it, but if you told me “you’ll be grateful for it” when I was living it, I would be so mad. What do you mean I should be grateful for crying my heart out ? Lol. What really helps me now is romanticizing the little moments, like drinking your nice cup of coffee, baking, feeling the sun, and doing things that you enjoy because I understood that if I wait for everything to be perfect to feel happy, I’ll never be happy. There is always something that is wrong or that could go wrong, so I chose to “dance through the storm”. Another corny thing that helped me more than I thought is repeating to myself “be where your feet are”. It applies for the fear of the future but also for the excessive dreaming like “I’ll be happy when I have this or that”. Some days it’s harder to apply it than others but baby steps. I’m sending you so much love and positivity. Thank you for your relaxing videos. 💕

OH MY GOODNESS you are in my mind girl!!!! You get exactly how it feels for me, and it can be such a frustrating process when you’re in the midst of it all. Romanticizing the little things has been huge for me too, and keeps me grounded in the small, but good, moments I have. Thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️

Congrats on almost 15k! Being 25 a lot of this stuff hits home, and especially having lived home after college, there is a mental challenge with being in a new stage of life but living somewhere familiar. I've really been learning to just appreciate the growing pains and work on not comparing myself to others, but to myself yesterday. Thanks again for another great video!

I'm 26 and life has taken every opportunity it can to, how do you say, fork me over. But it humbles you. I've basically discovered I am nothing and I am also "god", master of my own universe essentially. I still overthink and work myself up, had an anxiety attack last week that was pretty bad. I understand the feeling of your soul being sucked from your very being. I'll also say this, there's no "thing" to figure out. The answer always changes. I actually do know how you feel. The way you've described yourself is entirely relatable. We just are. That's all we can be. Don't know what else to say, but it's all true. I feel ya.

You are an incredibly wise and insightful young woman, and i am so happy I decided to subscribe to your channel. I hope you do more rambles like this, because a lot of us resonate with what you have mentioned in this video. I wish i was this in-tune with my feelings and self aware in my early 20's. I am 28 now, and a mother of two children. I had my son at 18, so I have navigated my entire 20's as a mother. I put myself through so much unnecessary guilt and pressure to have "it all figured out" for my children. But it is a life-long process. Our parents didnt have everything figured out, grown adults dont have everything figured out...and that is okay. Be gentle with yourself. You will be fine, we will get through this journey of life, try to enjoy the ride with all the ups and downs that come along with it. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.❤

And frankly, you're doing fine, because you're asking all the right questions. I've been there (a lot of us have), but I'm not going to spoil what happens next. That's for you to find out. You said you didn't "like" advice, so I'll keep this short: "Pain is just pain. You don't need to justify it, just feel it". And know you're not alone, cause sometimes that's enough.

I'm glad you are growing familiar with and feeling better about your internship. I understand the candle thoughts, as whenever I see one that is lit my very first thought is 'danger!' because of the disaster stories I've heard. It seems like we are multi-track beings, where there are separate simultaneous thought tracks always happening - one that is wise, one that is fearful, one that is compassionate, one that is hurt, one that is angry, etc. Kind of like the movie Inside Out. We are only able to focus on one at a time, but they are all there. It's disconcerting to at one moment really tap into the wise track and enjoy the feeling of that and then suddenly shift to the anxious/fearful track and wonder where the wise one went. I've had that happen too many times. Someone once said that other people's opinions are none of our business and that making them our business is where our anxiety comes from. That was comforting to me. I love having a reason to not worry about what others think. So I started doing this thing where every time I noticed a worry coming up I'd think to myself 'That is none of my business' and it helped a lot. Felt very empowering.
@calciferASMR
@calciferASMR Ай бұрын
Oh I so need to take on that line of thinking, “that’s none of my business.” Especially since I’m in a place where I’m constantly in the view of people on the internet now, it can be very overwhelming to have constant feedback and noise. I appreciate this. 🧡

15:33 I’m 23 and I relate to this part specifically so much. There’s been a good number of times where I’ve tried to step out of my comfort zone, or tried to live my life a certain way and it works out and I’m happy for the moment, but it just stops working. In my specific case I think it was trying to apply a “one size fits all” solution to what I think my problems are, but with therapy I think I’ve come to better understand the feeling! More often than not when I experience something like that, where I’m flying on a magic carpet and life seems to yank the rug out from under me, it’s normally because whatever I was doing was experimental. I was trying something to see if it worked out, and it didn’t, so I’d get really down on myself about it. But it’s okay to try those things! It’s okay to try different things and explore new environments and people. Obviously don’t enable yourself to do things you’re pretty sure aren’t good for you, but I think learning that this is part of discovering myself has been really helpful. Instead of me thinking so much about “Oh how I wish it went this way..” or “Why isn’t this mindset helping me anymore??” I’m much more aware that “Oh! That just wasn’t fun,” or “Ah, that doesn’t work in this case.” I know you talked about being given advice and how it may come off as condescending, and I don’t wanna pretend to know everything. I just hope that this provides at least a tiny bit of insight, if not at least gets you thinking about what it might mean for you specifically when you run into those bumps! Again it matters to me cause it’s such a big part of my own struggles as of late. Keep it pushing, we’ll all make it out someday 😤🫡
@calciferASMR
@calciferASMR Ай бұрын
“Having the rug pulled out from under you” is truly the best way to put how it feels. It feels like you’re doing something right when you’re actually putting yourself out there or trying something new, and then bam, just kidding, suddenly it’s no longer going to be good haha. It can suck at times! But I love how you reframe your thoughts about it once something does change. I really appreciate your comment here, thank you. ❤️❤️❤️

In my twenties (aged 18-25) I was at university and studying absorbed me. I always felt old though. My only regret is that I didn't ask more questions because I always felt I didn't know because I was just ignorant and everyone else would know. But I've realized in the 20 years that have passed since then, that people don't have all the answers and I should have been less afraid to ask questions. School was stressful for me but looking back, I wouldn't change a thing.

It’s totally okay to not love receiving advice! I have realized that, for me, it’s not about the advice specifically, but it’s more so feeling entirely unseen. I often know what my next steps need to be, or I know that my emotions on the issue will change, but when people give me advice, it a lot of times feels dismissive and like I didn’t know what to do, when I did. Oftentimes, I just want to get things off my chest, and be seen and heard. You’re doing great, your twenties is a challenging time. You are constantly growing, changing, having new responsibilities put upon you. It’s tough. I’m still there (26) but it’s slowly getting simpler. You’ll figure it all out when you’re meant to ❤️

ok so I'm only 26 so not even done with my 20s yet but I will say at least in my experience - every new experience bad or good feels so much worse in your early 20s compared to as you age because its (often) the first time you're experiencing it!! and as time goes on you start to notice signs or trends of these bad (or good) things coming up so they don't feel as strong or intense or overwhelming or scary as they do in those late teen and early 20s years!! I think also because we don't have those experiences that happen with age - we end up in worse situations that we learn how to either avoid or cope through as we age! so basically you're so right to feel how you're feeling and it is beyond irritating when older people act as though you're not! keep up the good stuff girly you got this!

Halfway through, I wanted to pause and comment for a moment. I’m in my early 20s, and I have a horrible habit of trying to give people advice when all they want is for someone to listen. It’s an issue that’s definitely not exclusive to me, but I have this inherent need to always try and help people. It can be hard to hear someone speak about advice and their dislike towards people sometimes giving advice when they don’t need it right then. Hearing you talk about that exact thing is really enlightening, as it shows the other point of view. Regardless of the intent of the person giving advice, sometimes people just need you to listen, and those moments can be some of the most bonding for you and whoever you’re venting to. I also want to apologize for the massive, unhinged rant I went on a few weeks ago. It was totally uncalled for, and it’s baggage that honestly shouldn’t be discussed in the KZfaq comment section. If anymore thoughts pop up I’ll continue to edit, but I hope all is well with you “Is this mental illness?” is hilarious. We all cope in various ways. I have pretty dry humor around serious moments, so I say some crazy stuff sometimes. I share the same sentiment about the future: a happy family, a great job, and LOTS of cats. I’m just one person, but I do want to say that these kinds of sit-down conversations are always welcome. I’m not sure what people expect when sitting down to listen. These kinds of videos are always going to be a little chaotic or depressing because it’s almost like self-introspection. That’s what life is: chaotic and depressing, but it can also be really beautiful. Okay, anyway, monologue over. SONG RECOMMENDATION OF THE DAY? COMMENT? aldn - “icantbelieveiletyougetaway”

I love reading what you have to say!! Please don’t ever apologize, although I absolutely respect you reflecting on what you feel is best for you to (or not to) share, but just always know you’re welcome!!! I so appreciate that you enjoy these sit-downs. It’s often a little worrisome to think that some people may be uncomfortable with them. I hope not! 🥹 And the song recommendation, I love that song, had to give it another listen as soon as I saw it haha.

The fact of the matter is this is everyone's first time at life. There's this unspoken idea that states that we should all know what we're doing when we get to adulthood, but in reality we aren't going to know and that's okay. A lot of life is just figuring things out and navigating the tumultuous nature of the adult world. In reality, we're never truly going to know what we're doing. As we grow older our experience grows, and our ability to navigate this crazy world might get a little better, but only because we've been hit so many times we've gotten better at dodging; not because we've somehow mastered the game and have achieved a clairvoyant ability to predict the hits before they come. Life is hard, and it will never get easier, but that's okay. There will be those days of lamentation now and then, but overall, the way I see it the best thing to do is put on a brave face and take the bad that life throws you while also enjoying the wonders that life has as well. In many ways, the world is one of extremes: extreme pain, extreme pleasure, extreme happiness and extreme sadness; extremes are embedded into our human experience. But overall, for whatever life throws at you, and for whatever issues come up in your life, face them with tact and always remember that this is your first time at life, and there is no reason you should know what you're doing. (edit: I think this is the most real you have ever been and I truly respect your transparency)

I’m going to be 30 this year and I don’t have it figured it out still. I think the reality is that no one ever does. You’ll look back though and wonder where your twenties went though. Still on my teenager phase, go here so i can hear asmr and maybe some life advice lol Not going to lie, sometimes advices like me makes me rethink my decisions, i just saw people regretting makes me wuestion my actions. But hey, we all learn and make mistakes. So I tried to encourage and compliment myself. So for those who's scared to make mistakes, it'd okay to make it. Instead of blaming yourself, you should be proud that you are able to learn something from others. And that you are brave and proud by doing something >:DDD Idk if this helps with other people, I'm still trying to learn to be mature

Going out on a limb here since I took psychology 101. :) You have been really wronged by someone you love. Dont say one way or the other as I dont need to know if I am right or wrong, and you didnt want to talk about it. Totally fair. There are some things in life we just want to quietly deal with or confide in a close friend or family member. Trust can be a hard thing to regain but you will. You said it yourself that day to day you will feel a little better. One thing that those who tell you that you will learn when you are older, dont count on it. I have a few years on you and in a lot of ways I am still spinning my wheels trying to sort stuff out. (they dont tell you that in the text book) :) Tomorrow is a new day and hopefully the sun will shine upon you. Take care!

Get angry, vent, laugh, it's confusing and it hurts so much but now that I've just come out the other side I feel stronger.
