@@BeaverCraftTools Thanks for the reply. I understand it's not a hardwood ( in fact it's pretty similar to balsa in that regard), I am curious as to whether you can make a usable spoon from it, or if the wood is too soft for the spoon to be anything more than decorative.

@@robbie6625 you're right, Robbie. Basswood spoons are mainly decorative spoons. But we manufacture wood carving blocks for beginner woodcarvers, so we don't use hardwood. Nevertheless, we'll take into account manufacturing woodcarving blocks from hardwood.

Not only has this man made a wonderful wood carving video, but he has also done so with fairly quiet breathing. I paint and I know I need to take some very deep breaths (that tend to be loud) when I take a moment to assess how I was doing from just the concentration alone, so the fact he kept his breath so quiet while not only concentrating so much, but also the hard work of using the right strength with the right tools, I just *chef's kiss* beautiful. I tip my paint brush to you my good sir. Amazing work.

Always amazed at people's talent to be able to carve out something from a block whether it be a simple wooden spoon or the detailed David statue.

Is that safety tape for wood splinters or can it protect against chisel too?
@BeaverCraftTools
@BeaverCraftTools 2 жыл бұрын
The safety tape doesn't prevent direct blade cuts but it is great for avoiding small cuts and abrasions during your working with a knife or a chisel

While I really like Asmr with zen music, or sounds of nature, what I absolutely love is just hearing stuff being created... Wood carving, needle felting, cooking videos... Also, it's interesting to see the way you hold the piece of wood, and carve away from your hands, cause you make it look easy, but it can actually be a very dangerous craft!
