After the battle when the Ordeal remnants pass the mountains at night, sorcerers lighting the way with their Bars of Heavens and the mutilated, left behind, Scalded watch them from below. Sweet Sejenus such epicness! One trivia. Topoi is the Greek word for locations, sites, grounds, places. Topos is the single form. I just love how Bakker uses so many Greek words. Tekne, Gnosis, Halaroi, Topoi etc! They sound alien and mythical. Once again such a great discussion dudes! Loved that King Crimson trivia. Bakker has some great taste in music! Great discussion! After the years I still don't understand, who the dunyain have been? Where did they come from to the Ishual? Why they chiseled all the sorcerous runes from walls of Ishual? Why dunyain breeded Anasurimbor pedigree? Why sarcophagus works only with Anasurimbor? Could someone please clear this questions for me?

I’m going to drop my thoughts as we go along... I don’t think Moenghus being Scylvendi by birth has anything to do with things related to seeing through the Anasurimbor mask. I think he’s just lived his life in a fucked up situation surrounded by monsters and he’s long since past swallowing their bullshit. Re whether the Consult were just dropping people into the Sarcophagus and hoping for the best - yeah, I think this is what they were doing. They didn’t understand what it was that the mechanism needed, and I think they got lucky with Nau Cayuti. How many people were sacrificed in this way? It’s mind boggling, uncountable. They were doing this for YEARS. And they understood the odds were so poor that it was OK for bashrag to drag people out of line now and again and just kill them. Grim. Dark. Bakker just blows my fucking mind with how bleak this is, but I would 100% join the Consult if I was given the chance. I do not want to suffer for eternity. I think Bakker has created a truly sympathetic villain. Who of us would not behave similarly if we knew of the certainty of our own damnation? I repeat: certainty. You love your god, but that’s not enough. You will burn. The Goad does not lie. Humans are frail, hubristic, and vain. We are animals. I’ve never felt a cause so *real* as the Consult’s. This is *forever*. I’m too pretty to burn in hell. It reminds me of Biaxi Sampas (sp?) in TTT. He thought of his family for a few moments throughout the events of the night, but that was all. And that was “just” a skin spy, for one evening. Who of us can claim superiority? Talking about Titirga - yes, he was a Gnostic sorcerer who had experienced the Psukhe. Fucking loved False Son.
