Always hard to choose one image over another, especially with the fall colours, as one stands out as much as the other! My favourite time of the year indeed!

Tim , great shot of the Aspens. I’ve also screwed up with my batteries; normally I accidentally leave my camera on before venturing out. Fortunately I shoot Sony and can charge the camera direct😃

Great video, came across this when searching for locations in Tumwater Canyon area of Leavenworth. Bummer you forgot your charger and extra battery. I have 4 MH-25 chargers and 5 batteries between my Z6ll and D500. One charger always always lives in my camera bag along with an inverter in my vehicle so I can charge while driving. Thanks for the video.

I went on a similar photo shoot 2 years ago, albeit it was out of Sedro Woolley Washington, and we where there to photograph the bald eagles, feeding on the salmon in the Skagit River. Unfortunately the weekend we chose to do this (I was with a friend who drove up from Portland Or.) it was cloudy all weekend, and not as many eagles as we had hoped to see. I saw more eagles on a drive to the Harrison River, than on this trip actually, but it was fun nonetheless, and a good start to seeing the area, of which I'd like to do again one day! Thankfully, to date, I've never forgotten my charger for 'my' Nikon! lol

This is just a fantastic video. I could watch similar videos all day. I've been there on the battery problem :-) Its the worst. I like your attitude though, persistence. The phone will do the job in a pinch, especially in daytime lighting. Keep up the great work!

Thanks so much Marshall. I really appreciate your kind words. I still don't know why the battery charge fix wouldn't work. It is such simple theory.... My guess is that the wire was not actually making contact with the recessed little contacts on the battery.

So exciting! I really like to watch your excursions - I can so relate to the excitement :-). Too bad with the battery, did it last the whole trip? I thought it was a creative charging idea - too bad it did not work ;-). Great photos!! I like these trees a lot!

Thanks Annette. It really was an exciting trip except for the battery. For some reason it did not work but it should have worked. I had to borrow Chris' camera for the good shooting spots. A mistake I will never make twice! :-)

Tim Shields Photography Great you at least could borrow a Chris’ camera! Yeah, I get scared sometimes thinking I have forgotten an extra battery or a backup SD card, that would be so sad. Hopefully it has not happened yet!! Better be careful when charging, lol

Hi Tim lovely autumn colours nice contrast with the white birch , is your Nikon a D850 , it's so annoying when something happens like leaving a battery etc . the last picture I liked best
