Immediately media listed off reasons why he might be a target. They weren't shy about naming his aversion to the EU,NATO and USA. Other trouble leaders were mentioned, Hungary for example

I'm Slovak and I can say that an assination on a political figure never happened in Slovak History. Fico went to greet some people and shake their hands. No one expected that someone would shoot.

@@nikolas8799 complacency by those security agents when Fico is the second most hated figure in the European Union and viewed as a threat is a treasonous act and the people of Slovakia need to wake up to the vipers nests they joyfully jumped into, the EU and NATO

I pray that GOD grants the prime minister, a full and speedy recovery. Once recovered, he needs to fully overhaul his secret service detail. Ideally, get some guys from Russia or China. Can’t trust local guys, because they can be easily compromised.

A 71 year old man tried to escape really ? He had the gun but a Ukrainian sniper actually fired the shots. There’s no way a man of that age would have the composure to hit a target from that far away.
