Is the Renegade Raiders Detachment the best in the new Codex? With some HUGE Buffs to Movement, Shooting, and Melee... it's certainly got some things going for it!

If I get frustrated working with Fellhammer, this is gonna be the Iron Warriors Mechanized Assault Detachment.

I'm playing with this detachment on Monday. I'm taking 25 plague marines allied units which become heretic astartes. This means all their lovely weapons getting sustained from dark pacts plus lethal on their weapons on 6s and with assault they actually get to move at a decent speed. Plus an extra AP if the enemy is on an objective and have the bonus toughness 5.

My partner plays Red Corsairs and ohhhh boy he's gonna be happy to see them get some love. It looks super fun to play though

As unfortunately the Night Lords one is a bit shit I think I'll be running this one most of the time. Warp Talons and Raptors should really be fun to use here.

renegades looks SUPER competitive, and best of all, fun. im going with VotLW, coz i play the Pyre. so a unit of flamer termies with let the galaxy burn is just too "fluffy" not to. (also bringing termie sorc for extra ap to try and make flamers work xD)

That sounds really fun! Yeah I'm a big fan of this Detachment not just for the 'competitive' side of things but it just looks plain fun to play! Lots of mobility and boosts to your shooting and melee, and some fun strats! It's straightforward but really exciting!

Certainly one of the best detachments. The passiv is fantastic and the stratagems are good too. The enhancements are rather meh. That said - Pactbound Zealots is on the same level as i see it, because its very versatile and has some of the best stratagems. It got nerfed a bit, but Overall a very good detachment. Behind those two are Fellhammer, VotlW and Soulforge on the same level. Just my two cents.

Kind of surprising that a "Raider" type detachment got an AoC strat tbh, but quite useful indeed.

This might be the "easy mode" of codex chaos space marines.

@@RSBurgener It definitely seems to be the 'easiest' to just use kinda what you like and have good, generic all-round strats and boosts to your Units!

Yeah I was expecting to see it in the 'Iron Warriors' Fellhammer one to be honest, I'm a bit surprised it isn't just a generic strat like Armour of Contempt for Marines in all of their Detachments
