Man I am always ready for a bike and a beer , bring it on. Here's a tip for washing your bikes. While it's on the stand spray off all the mud and crud then while the bike is wet spray the entire bike with a 50/50 mix of Simple Green , let it soak for a few minutes then spray it off. You now have a squeaky clean bike without scrubbing at all. Just be sure to dilute the Simple Green or it'll eat your paint and leave streaks on any aluminum surfaces especially the engine cases. I used to race motocross and I'd wash all my bikes like that. For new pegs you oughta get some of the new cleated motocross pegs. You'll have to modify some mounts for them but for a man of your talent that shouldn't be a problem. Good luck and keep the videos coming.

Congratulations on the Builtwell! You guys kicked butt.. I could feel my spine every time you hit one of those ruts, I don’t think most people know how tough those old Triumphs are to ride off-road unless you’ve done it before .. I thought about taking my ‘67 for a “hot minute”.. but I’ve really got to change my rear shocks and get a bit taller set of handlebars.. also considering changing my pegs. Look forward to seeing what you come up with…

I got my 67 T100C a year and a half ago. I rode it for 6 months and maybe 500 miles before the Lucas ET system failed. I'd never heard of the ET before and am fascinated with factory magneto bikes (I also ride a 69 XLCH magneto Sportster). I was amazed that the 57 year old ET ignition lasted as long as it did--- a testament to the durability of these old bikes. The ET coils/condensers and wiring were all cracked and brittle and falling apart, and my Triumph Yoda replaced them with a Boyer set up. I ride the T100 quite often on my daily commute--- 70 mile round trip. It's a great in-traffic bike and a perfect lanesplitter.

Cool! Bike and a beer is always good! Here in nor cal, there was a big AHRMA race over at the Burrow's ranch on the west side. Lots of Triumph's and BSA's and all sorts of great vintage stuff, more bikes and riders than they have ever had. This was about 2 weeks ago and was held on a huge MX/Scrambles grass track, everything was very wet and green. I rode my E Mt bike all around taking pictures, and of course talking to everyone I bumped in to. Lots of enthusiasts . Life long dirt bike fanatics.

THANK YOU for another great episode, Bill. As always, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Your riding videos are my favorite, but I also love seeing the details of what it takes to revive and maintain these classic bikes. And, yes siree, A Bike and a Beer episode is always welcome.

You need to re-route your throttle cable(s). Position the twistgrip so the cable is pointed towards the rear of the bike, then loop it through the gas tank tunnel. This keeps it behind the bars and out of harm's way. The last thing you need is to snag it on a puckerbush and go to full throttle in an instant right turn.

Hi Bill. If you're using the Amal 376 Monobloc then I think you'll find that BSA and Triumph also used them on their 600 Concentric carbs with a straight tube Air Filter Adapter. 71-2086, 70-4576, E4576 Hope this helps.

Fair play to you for hoisting both bikes up on the wooden lifts, you made it look like a piece of cake. Really enjoying seeing how passionate you are about these old Trumpets. Makes me want to get out more on my ‘70 T100C. Cheers from Putnam Valley NY.

Foot peg mount looks like it broke due to metal fatigue. Also, I would not chrome plate a foot peg mount. Chrome plating makes the metal more brittle. Yes, replace both footpeg mounts and maybe the ones on your cub w/ good quality pieces..

Great channel, just found it. Looks like you still give them all a good workout and have a great time doing it. My father was into british bikes and growing up I remember him using his TR5MX as a horse to herd cows on our farm. I still got his 500 which is a great thumper. I got into Bristish bikes after his passing and in the last 5 years have 17 in my collection. Vintage racing with your wife, so great your a lucky man! save more British iron, cheers!

I really enjoy your Bike and a Beer videos on the old bikes having come from that generation. I inherited a 1978 1/2 Suzuki RM 250 from my brother, which had been buried in a shed for over 20 years. I got it running but parked it. However since watching your videos you've inspired me to fix it up. I also tried to purchase a couple of your shirts but unfortunately they are unable to deliver to my address.

steel levers, yep. you leave the clamps loose enough for a little 'displacement' before stuff snaps, right? drift and a big 'persuader' to get the bushes out, then usual threaded stud and socket/washers to pull them back in. right on with alligator teeth folding pegs, did i not see somewhere a mod for desert riding that the peg mounted in a 3 point mounting sub chassis that utilised two mounting points of the primary / timing cover? mm does sound a little sketchy now i say it. desert racers used to route throttle cables over the top of the tank for that reason. whi;e you're fixing it, zip tie a replacement clutch cable to the one in use for quicker replacement, protect exposed ends with a tied on condom.

Enjoyed the update, it is indeed time for an update to bikes and a beer. As regards to beer, if you're from Birningham, they pronounce it so it sounds like Beerminghum with the first syllable accented. Regarding t shirts I recently purchased a short sleeve and a long sleeve t shirt from him, they are quality heavy weight t shirts. Any chance of a serious Norton P11 ride? That and a '95 Triumph Daytona Super III are the only Brit bikes I own at the moment.

I'll second the comments on a bike and a beer, and make a request: Could you please fix the audio, I usually listen with headphones, and you only come through the right channel when you are speaking. The problem is I am partially deaf in my right ear, so I turn it up, then your theme song comes through in both and blows my ears out. Thanks...
