Billy, don’t sell yourself short!! What you’ve accomplished at the chateau, the guest house, and the convent has been amazing! And who said you have to finish everything right away. Some projects just have no end.

It is a shame. When I was young, and homeless, I did occasionally sleep in an unsecured building. I and my friend,( another young girl), were always so careful to never damage anything, never leave any sign we had been somewhere. "Like ghosts". Both of us loved camping and backpacking before falling on hard times, and maybe that ethos of always leaving a campsite better than you found it guided us. Thankfully, it was just the the summer between high school and college, we both had scholarships, and life quickly improved for both of us. But there's never a reason to randomly damage things.

Have you had any visitors from the village looking at the transformation Billy? Great job on the painting of the doors.

Anyone who owns a house can tell you that one is NEVER done renovating the place, no matter how old or new. Undoubtedly even more so when a place has been abandoned for so long. Keep up the good work.

Ryan is doing an amazing job with the editing of this video. I love the no music, just the sound of the gate, footsteps, etc. Do not get me wrong, I love the music too. I also enjoy the “raw vlog” feel.

Don't worry Billy,having wandered around quite a few castles and stately homes in the UK.I can say that the work will never just stop. - Large buildings/estates always need something more to do. Roofing,gardens,heating,basic maintenance,touching up paint. It just never stops.

Don't worry about finishing projects. My father inlaw was renovating a small house and he was working on 2 cars for the last 15 years of his life. He did 99% him self or with a little help from his wife or kids. He absolutely loved starting new projects and unfortunately when he died most of them were unfinished because few things actually have an end. There is always something to change or improve. He loved doing the work and he had a happy life.

I'm so glad you were able to secure the convent and install CCTV, that along with all the activity of people moving about is sure to deter unsavory people and their activities/destruction. Also, no shame in having varying projects at hand, when you get to a spot with one where need a break you can always tend to another and give yourself a pause and a mental reset.

Hey there. Hopefully this helps when you're cleaning windows. Here in America, almost EVERY window cleaner uses "Lemon Joy" liquid soap. It cuts thru the grease like nothing other. And the lemon leaves no streaks! If it's not something available there, let me know and I'll just send you a few bottles!!!

It is so senseless and mean when people destroy property. Why they do such things is beyond me. It has happened to me as well, at both my home and gallery/antique shop I had. Why? Senseless destruction. Smashing of my shop windows, my Toyota windows, just wanton destruction. But for all the bad that some do, the love, goodness and help of those around us carries us through.💗

Hi Billy & gang. With my chronic back trouble I could never have moved the tile like u guys did. My back was saying "ouch, ouch, ouch". While watching u guys move them. Lol You should have use a dolly. It would have been so much easier & not so many trips. Just a thought. Things are looking so nice. It was really quite sad for me to hear Billy say that the convent will be another project not finished, just like the chateau. I just don't understand that. I would love to see the chateau finished, even though I know that after completion there is always upkeep, maintenance and updating. That is something you do with every home.

Triggered: Residing in a rural community, the one thing I had noticed is persons moving from the city bring their lack of responsibility with them. Vandalism and tagging for some reason, I have no idea why they behave as they do? Years ago, the village in which I lived as an adolescent had two buildings which were part of the history of the location. A hermitage on the hill and historical school at the base of the hill across the street. The building was a mason lodge, but it wasn't always, it was once the girl school. The hermitage however was only had one surviving building still intact, the old gymnasium. Many students from the local high school had many dreams written on the walls of that old building, vowing some day to return and restore the building. Throughout the years growing up in that village, much of the rural became developed becoming suburbia. People move to the rural areas to escape the city but inevitably desire all amenities they had in the city. They refer to it as advancement but what was developed is or was prime farmland. A little miffed developers don't care. That hermitage was stopping development as it was a historical site. The village and other local would not allow the area to be developed unless the developer agreed to restore the building. I was 20 yo residing in a neighboring town within a condominium. You could see the flames for miles as it lit up the sky. Arson destroyed the old gymnasium as it went up like a tinderbox. Soon after the land was developed for townhouses. Guess its easier to place a commemorative monument than it is to restore a building that has been there since the village was established. As I recollect, the gymnasium was an old basketball court with painted trim upon laminate wood flooring. Red and blue. Red was a guide to the boys changing rooms up stairs. Blue was a guide for the girls changing rooms on the ground floor. The gymnasium had wood fired central heating. The red and blue color designation was when pink was a boys color and blue was a girls color. If I had the money I could rebuild that gymnasium from memory. But wouldn't be the same as it once was. Development destroys history.

Curious, what is the little cottage at the entrance on the right side of the driveway as you enter the chateau? It looks like something out of a story book or fairy tale. I don't remember seeing it mentioned in any of the videos. Are there any outbuildings you haven't shared on the channel? I just happened upon your channel and got hooked.
