Good video brother yes your probably right over tight if you have a old intertube split it and put it on the pipe that the tank sits on and just tighten the nut a little more than snug on new tank and use blue lock tite on the threads keeps it from loosening up ride safe brother

Idk if you ended up buying the same style tank but I used extra brackets and nuts so that all the clamping pressure is between the brackets instead of the pressure being from pulling against the studs. Worked great and the tank doesn't get shifted all over the place any more 😊

These tanks suck 😅😅😅 good attempt on repairing it. You will be happyer with a bigger tank. I would recommend removing your fenders and the cain gaurd, though. If one fails and gets sucked into the drive chain or you're wheels, it will throw you off the bike and could really hurt you. Overall, the bike looks solid 👌 😎 💯 🎉🎉🎉

I definitely would have tried JB weld instead of flex seal just because of the chemical resistance, just make sure the surface is sanded down to the bare metal and cleaned off with break cleaner or something similar! On my install video on my channel I show a trick to attach your gas tank in a way that won’t rip the studs off and you can tighten it a lot more so it doesn’t rotate! Hope this helps!

When you buy a tank sealant it should go INSIDE the tank. Putting anything outside of it won't work. It costs the same as a new tank and you will never have a problem again.
