We visited Assin Manso also referred to as “The Slave River/Market site.” It was the destination point where captured Africans from the northern part of Ghana and other African nations were made to walk hundreds of miles to be sold to slave masters. From here they had to walk to the Cape Coast dungeons to be shipped off to the America, Europe and the Caribbean. Many lives were lost on this evil and treacherous journey.
