genesis is even shorter from the day i installed it on my ps4 it only took 9 days most of those days i didnt play it it only has 16 chapters with about 5 of them being boss stages it will take longer to find the right way to get around the areas to finish the chapters since the map doesnt actually show you where you are it only highlights the area around you and doesnt show you where you need to go so you will end up going in circles it shows you where collectables are on the map but not in relation to where you are making them too easy to miss in the first area i explored everywhere i could and somehow i ended up missing most of the stuff also the isometric perspective makes platforming almost impossible since you never really know if you are going to land a jump i like genesis though but mainly because of strife the refernces to war losing his arm and the introduction of lucifer and finally because darksiders is one of those franchises that manages to keep its world and story interesting with each new game adding to it in one way or another thing about genesis is that the story constantly hypes up lucifer even after you kill moloch samael opens the door to lucifer and the dialouge makes you think that he is going to be the real final boss since everything you have done has involved hunting him down and foiling his plans while taking down the demon masters that he is using as his pawns even moloch when you pass through the portal though all that actually happens is a cutscene that shows lucifer talking to strife and war about how he gave humanity a purpose while corrupting them and we are show exactly where the 7 seals came from as well as a glimpse of the council before they turned evil after this the game just ends no fight with lucifer no chance to save humanty from corruption

And it has a looooot of lote and replayability

@@aureliodeprimus8018 Presumably Death doesn't need to consume food and thus expunge waste product. He seems to gain sustenance purely through killing, or is just immortal/self-sufficient.

I agree it's the other way around war and fury are more aingelic and act more superior while death and strife accept the fact the truth and hence their firms aswell

Search E3 Preview - Darksiders Genesis. If you skip to the boss fight you will see they player use Strife's form and War's Chaos form against Demon Lors Mammon. The gameplay is very clear since it's not recorded with a camera

Maybe War's wings pointing downwards is meant to be showing of his Angelic side. Remember, the Nephilim are both angel and demon. His wings pointing down may come from his Angelic side.

I would've thought he took on a more Angelic looking form with a bow or something. Maybe as tribute to Conquest, the Horseman he replaces. I would've preferred that, but what they went with is definitely unique. With that huge tail and minigun for an arm. And you're right. No wings huh? Strange.

Definitely didn't have a name before Death, as far as lore goes. In the game, Absolom calls Death that name from before Eden had fallen, iirc. Like, this is coming before humanity's time on Earth. So... either Death changed his name sometime before we've ever seen him, or that's his original name.

I think it would make sense if Death is the source of the human idea of the Grimm reaper. From the sound of it, humanity did live on Eden for a brief period of time before the Nephilim invaded and ruined the place. Which actually makes sense since Eden plays such a major role in Christianity, or even just the idea of some sort of ideal place that ancient man lived in but then was forced out of in one way or another does pop up in various myths across the world in some form. The idea those stories could actually be ancient history passed down orally by humanity for generations, being somewhat warped and misremembered due to the sheer weight of time, cultural filters, and the fact the people who actually witnessed it happen were possibly so primitive they had no damned way of even beginning to understand what the hell was going on, actually sort of matches up with real life. Ever hear of the Pleiades? It’s a group of seven stars that you can find used in various myths across the world, for example in Greek Mythology they are considered seven sisters (usually some form of divine being, depends on which version you’re looking at), one of which is missing or has been lost in some way. Thing is, nowadays if you look at them, only six are actually visible, and that has been the case for a very, very long time, as in before recorded human history, long time. In short even if complicated civilization as we understand it, didn’t technically exist that far back people were still noticing stuff like this and trying to understand it. Meaning even if our historical records don’t go that far back, our cultural memory has maintained some degree of knowledge. So the idea that, in this universe, ancient humanity saw Death raising hell in his Reaper form during the battle in Eden, and thought he was some sort of embodiment of the concept, possibly even hearing his name mentioned once or twice and that becoming some sort of root word for death in whatever early language they had, actually makes a degree of sense.

Anthony Forbes No, in The Abomination Vault we are told that they absolutely needed those weapons. That’s why their literal first move was to attack the Ravaiim and create them. They couldn’t risk alerting the universe to their army as a threat until they had enough power that they couldn’t be defeated.

Uuuuuh... Chests? As far as we can tell it was just the creators wanting a way to give the players allot of souls to buy upgrades, and they were like "Hey chests are things in most games, So here are some chests" They just replaced soul chests with those floating lurcher orb things. :)

A developer actually made a comment after we posted this video. Apparently the super modes expressly come from the Council.

if he was flying would have to have wings 10 times bigger than him and even if he could fly he actually has the build up height in order to cover a different heights take the guardian fight for example he can’t just summon his reperform down at the guardians feet and expect him to like float up there no he actually has to climb up their float an attack that’s how it works
