Thank you for this video!! I grew up just a 5-min walk up the street from these tracks in Relay and I can remember so many summers hanging out with friends and watching the trains and putting pennies on the track once a year for the train to flatten as a memorable coin for that year (sorry about the pennies, lol, probably not good for the trains but this was a good 40 years ago). Misty-eyed watching these trains go by. My childhood.🙏🏾✨

@@BaltimoreAndOhioRR seems like a lifetime ago but that was such a great place to grow up! And the best sledding down Magnolia Ave every winter, from the top of the road almost down to the tracks...depending on how much we were up to walking back up the road after each trip down. 😊 I think a steam engine came through once a year (?) and that's when we did the pennies. To this day the sound of a train going by is so calming and takes me right back to growing up in Relay. Thank you again for the videos!

Yep, around 40 years ago or so, my Dad used to take us there too, although we spent most of our time in the State Park, via Gun Road. But we did often come by St Denis, Relay, and the Thomas Viaduct. Also the Goodwill on Southwestern Blvd, to see the Amtrak Metroliner and Penn Central frieght trains. My father took a handful of pictures over the years, but I sooo wish we could have taken videos or even lots of digital pics back then!
