Vaporwave reminds me of going to indoor swimming pools when I was young, palm trees everywhere, aesthetic pools, music echoing through the big halls, being high and drowzy because of all the chloric in your eyes.. feels like a distant dreamy memory. this music unlocks the feeling again.

I guess most vaporwave fans today were born between '85-'95 and this kind of music accompanied our first exposure to television, radio, video games, pop, supermarkets, commercials, sport and computers. All of those exposure events triggered huge amounts of serotonin and awe in our infant mids, and that's why it's still such a high to listen to it today.

Or it doesn't matter when you were born... you just love the music, it brings nostalgia to you whether you were born in the 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, any decade. vaporwave makes me feel nostalgia for something I have yet to experience :) and that's a wonderful feeling.

It's a bit funny, as I'm just barely too young to have experienced that aesthetic (born in '98) yet I lobe this music and the synth-heavy music of the 80s (I adore the Kung Fury soundtrack, for example) I feel the reason I personally like this aesthetic is not due to nostalgia, but instead a love for the synthesizers used, or maybe even it stems from the popularity of the nostalgia-drenched style on the Internet. Just a thought.

This music makes me incredibly nostalgic for the days about 7 years ago, when 10 year old me would set up his PlayStation 1 every morning during the summer when I was with my mom and my brother. I always felt alone, just with my brother, and we would play Spyro and Crash Bandicoot all day. I miss when life used to be so simple. I miss the moments in my life when I could just enjoy myself, and for me, this music temporarily brings me back to those days.

Sassy Beaver Vapor is a parodie of consumerism and capitalism, taking songs and concepts made for the capitalist world like charts music and shopping mall sounds and elevator type music, and creating a music open for everybody, a world made up of capitalist sounds that forms a world where there is no capital, where you just flow. Thats the sole purpose of vaporwave, its like a drug ripping you out of this world into a vivid scenery of tumblr aesthetics and chilly music.

Its a dream like state where you are somewhere between sleeping and awake, the same flowing easyness tumblr aesthetics and nostalgia cause in people, thats why vaporwave aesthetics were infact formed *ON* tumblr, making the genrall aesthetic and vision of art of this website accountable for the vaporwave you here today. Without tumblr vaporwave would still be slowed down 80s pop, but its so mich lore than that.

I've always been that kind of person who is very nostalgic and reminds the 90's or even the 80's (this last one is funny, cause i wasn't even born yet) as a wonderful, happy, dreamy era and when i first ran into Vaporwave, i was like: This is amazing. Unfortunately not all of the music i listened to was really making me feel that 90's / 80's lounge, elegant, festive and relaxing taste, but I have to admit that this music collection has that right mix of saxophone, synth and percussion that makes me really feel like i'm traveling back in time for the first time, and I love it! Thank you.

Godamn I know that Vaporwave is all, "Huehuehue le maymay dank JAPANESE a e s t h e t i c" but I really enjoy this. It's like when I would listen to songs that had very vaporwave-ish brief moments in them I was always wishing there could be a whole genre of music on just those parts. I've finally found that genre.

imagine walking in an old abandoned mall during the zombie apocalypse. You have a backpack and a pistol with a little pocket knife in the other hand. You are searching for a friend who you saw dragged away by mutated and radiated zombies. You are in desperate panic and you know he is probably already far gone but you don't care. You are walking quietly, no sounds other than your footsteps. You pass ravaged and scavenged broken-down stores of the mall, the shelves fallen, the air dank and moist, the whole place lit dimly by rays of light passing through holes, far in between, in the ceilings and the walls. Specs of dust float around in front of your face. You are coming up to the broken escalator, trash and planks of wood and ceiling chunks lay all around. Vines stretch around here and there, an uncomfortable color of green adoring them. Everything is quiet. Then the second song from the video starts to play faintly,coming from somewhere up, a creepy and faint, distorted version of the song filters through the large and seemingly empty mall. You remember your friend loved vaporwave. You know you only have one choice. To go up.

I remember searching up Vaporwave & this first showed up! I remember listening to this sometime between 2015/2016. 😊 This is the first Vaporwave mix I have ever listened to in my life between those years, and I'm still enjoying the Vapor to this very day! 😊
