The comments are hilarious 😂 Bloom Audio are genuine & helpful peeps. Bought my Chord Poly from them back in the day 🙌🏽 That said, DAPS are primarily a want, not a need, b/c most everyone has a smartphone nowadays. However, the only way to truly know, is to buy or borrow one. Kinda’ becomes “ worth it “ @ that point, b/c you no longer have to wonder via the internet. If it doesn’t work out, you can return it, less the restocking fee or sell it on eBay. Expensive proposition, but at least you’ll know for sure 😉

Does the LED light changes colour to red when turning volume up/down and then goes back to green/purple etc. like in all other Astell&Kern players? Have a nice day

Thanks! Yes, it has Bluetooth output that can connect to a car audio system.

You can watch youtube videos at 720p but the device is not really meant for it.

All my music is ripped from CDs onto an old Mac, into Itunes. Are these transferable to this device?

Yes, you can copy AAC or ALAC files through iTunes/Apple Music (or any number of other formats) ripped from CDs onto the device to play them back.

Wanted to use as main player for car, what's the output voltage? To drive a car amplifier? Is it good to 2 volts output?

Generally speaking 2V is what you want for a preamp input, like for a car, so the standard line out should be good.

I know this is a late comment, but I just received a Astell&Kern SP2000T and it suggest using a 9V 1.67A adapter. Where can I buy one? Can you suggest brands? Thank you in advance.

We've used a variety of "standard" USB-A chargers in the office, mostly Amazon Basics and Anker. You should be fine with almost any USB-A plug, but USB-C to USB-C chargers can provide higher amperages that could cause battery issues.

Hi - I'd still say that in the tuning and performance out of the box, the SP2000 still has the edge over the SP2000T. In terms of functionality, the UI updates in the SP2000T as well as the greater flexibility in tuning that the tube/hybrid modes provide, the SP2000T is stronger than the SP2000.

I am soo confused, because imagine you investing 1K$+ into DAPS, if you listen music via wired earphone connected to iPhone, is it really worth and different to buy a DAP (SP2000 etc) to listen music compared to it?

I would like to know how you replace the battery on these things? It looks all sealed in and non replaceable. To me that is a deal breaker, I mean toss a $3000 device in the bin when the battery eventually wears out? It WILL wear out even just from age, all batteries do. Is there something I am missing such as a way to get into the device?

The manufacturer does provide battery replacement, but they charge for that. Based on the feedback and the units I've seen from customers, you can expect 3-4 years of solid battery operation if you generally take care of it.

@@BloomAudio So after 3 to 4 years you need to pack it up mail it out, wait weeks being without it, pay a fee then finally get it back and hopefully the technician didn't scratch it up doing the repair? What a hassle! It would have been much better if you had a few screws in the back where you could just remove the back and do the replacement in a few minutes. It is just poor design, unless the goal is to keep you paying them a replacement fee every few years.

@@L337g4m3r I feel yah. Drove a Honda Accord Coupe for 20 years b4 replacing it. Those days are over, it appears. We now live in a disposable world. Especially when it comes to electronic devices. 3-5 year cycles, tops, be it batteries, software or hardware.

Hi, I think SP2000T pairs brilliantly with hybrid IEMs, so the Campfire Solaris, A&K x Campfire Pathfinder, or the 64 Audio Tia Trio (or the new Fourte Blanc) are all great pairings. The combination of SP2000T's tuning and dynamic driver bass gives you excellent texture and impact.

0:55 - "there's no apps"? How does a player work without apps?

The only "app" would be the music management and playback that's embedded into the device. On some devices, you can't install your own player app or use any streaming services. You just drop your music on it and use the manufacturer's provided file management and player.

@@DaveMcIroy I suppose it could be more correctly stated that the only app on the phone is the embedded player installed by the manufacturer, and the end user can't add any apps or remove the embedded player.

If you want a good tube DAP, I would wait for the Cayin N8 ii. The Gold version already kills the SP2000T on tube. So I am waiting until I compare the 2.

Amazon Music not included! The included app is for musicians administration only (so, ridiculous to put it on the list, unless Ariana Grande buys an A&K SP2000t and uses that). For the rest of the mortals, Amazon Music still through APK apps (C'mon, Astell & Kern!)
