Hi, thanks very much for commenting and glad you enjoy the ship videos. To answer your questions...I always fly in P mode to preserve battery life, the only time I use S mode is when I'm trying to fly ahead of a fast moving ship into a strong head wind, when I get in front I switch back to P. P is best for the smooth movements. I never use point of interest or active track. I always fly manually myself, its the only way to gain positive muscle memory for tracking moving objects. I'm not afraid of loosing the drone at all far out or over the sea, I've been filming vessels now for 8.5 years, from doing this often you gain confidence within yourself and your drone. It will always come back to you if signal is lost or battery gets low, however one has to factor in wind speed and direction for the latter. I hope this helps, keep flying.
