As a belgian i can confirm onana is a very good footballer. Hes tall, aggressive, imposing, strong and loves a challenge. He had a class game against England earlier this year. Yes ever since his debut against Villa I was like who is this beast of a player still learning the game. Both footed yeah!

What I remember really noticing whenever I watched Everton last season was that he was constantly on the floor outstretched nicking the ball off people, I remember he did it 3 times at least vs us too. Someone with that ability to grab the ball and then ping it somewhere is invaluable in a squad, one of the more promising links for me so far

Emery clearly wants muscle in the midfield next season, with Barkley, et al.

He would be a powerful force in the middle which we have lacked since returning to the EPL. I would be intrigued what Emery could mold him into.

RIP Sarkic! I can't imagine how his family and friends must be feeling right now! God bless them all! Interesting point about Onana being two footed. Gordon Cowans was that type of player, sometimes you couldn't tell which was his natural foot, fantastic passer of the ball!

Top top player. It seems unai is trying to bring some physicality to the squad, which has been one of our weaknesses in the last few years. If we can get a few of the players we've been linked with, i can see us winning a trophy

Onana is a beast! He's 6'4, good tackler, relatively quick. Good football brain too. Mentioned at around 34 mil. Onana may come in as an 8, though he's really a 6 at Everton. May start as a 6 until Kamara comes back, and then Onana could possibly move to an 8.

With us being without Kamara for a bit, Hed have to start in that role and We could see how he could progress after.

Luke question for you - Gallagher/Onana/McKennie are all-action midfielders. But who will replace the technical skill and game intelligence of Dougie to CONTROL games? Would be afraid to rely on an injury prone Tielemans/Barkley for a season in this role. Thoughts?

I think I’m one of only a few people that don’t get the hype around this player ..his just ok for me but my god the way some fans and football pundits have gone on about him it’s like his Andrea Pirlo Patrick Viera and Claude Makelele all rolled into one..saying all that though what he would give us is a bit of muscle and stamina in midfield and adding to that being coached under Unai Emery so of course he’d be a good addition to the squad

I like The Villa ever since I went to the 3 1977 cup finals. No doubt Onana has big potential but in reality he is 4th choice behind Gana,Garner and Doucoure. he is a big personality big size and presence but in reality has not done it yet. For the money I am delighted to sell and if we can keep Branthwaite that is fantastic coz he is the real deal

Yes Luke. I've asked myself about him, I really like him. I'm just not sure if he's quite good enough on the ball/with his distribution. Note * Not sure. If We went in, I think He'd try and force a move. Problem is What Everton paid wasn't cheap for him and will still be paying for him. I couldn't see him being cheaper than £40m and I think they'd try and hold out for £50m - Especially if they get good money for Brainthwait.

He can defend the front post at corners.

Everton fans seem to be underwhelmed by Onana when I’ve heard them talk about him. Also, Everton want to sell him rather than Braithwaite. Think we might need to temper expectations if he’s a genuine target but in Unai we trust.

How ever after listening to the video maybe there is a player in there if he was designated to a set role he has the right physical attributes I just think he is to expensive currently but at 22 and under Emery he could be a beast
