Astra 600/43

I now own a beautiful Astra 600/43. I really enjoy this gun and look forward to owning this gun for years to come. The gun is more accurate than I am.

It looks so much like a Browning 1922, which was built around the same time in Belgium.

Perfectly formatted review. Astra is really the Rodney Dangerfield of semi automatics. They had some really cool ideas and saw a lot of use. When I first saw one of these, I thought it was integrally suppressed.

After the war in 1951, the new german forces receive the last Astra 600, first the german police and after in 1954 the german army. And some Astra 600 was used in french army in Vietnam in 1945 to 1954, specialy in foreigne Legion

The first 20,000 made it to Germany but they paid for all 60,00, they basically doubled their money on most. I have one as we with original magazines and case. Great video

The funny thing is that since the West German government adopted the 600 for police and army use after WW2, the Germans paid for them twice!

Thanks for the review. I had a 600 but in a weak moment sold it and regretted it ever since. The batch mine came from had only one magazine and most gun shops were prepared and had some for sale. (In the 1960s if I remember correctly). Also mine tended to go full auto so I had a shop fix it. Great gun though.

It is. There is an astra 400 at an LGS. They want a little much for it but i want to try and talk them down.

the first ones had unceta on one side an guernica on the other. the later ones had them both on one side and guernica on the other. the bomb and helmet were spanish proof marks and the o between them was the date code, being 1944. they were made for germany but most didn't make it as the allies cut off the route through france after d-day. they sold them again to west germany after the war. they weren't made for commercial sale.

Just got a German issue one with the serial # in the 7000 range which means it was one of the original 10,500. What a great shooter, Sights aren't the greatest but it is right on and no hiccups

I am working on a trade right now for a matching number Walther p38. right now I have it on Arms List in Wisconsin. Maybe if my deal falls through we can work something out. This is one sweet pistol

So I just bought a 1st contract Astra 600. The slide is in the 1000s serial and the frame in the 400s. It's a mismatch but still from the same shipment.

34000 serial would be 1945 and what you think is an C is a P which stands for 1945

I have both a 400 and a 600. I'd suggest the 600 in 9mm parabelum. Cheaper ammo and easier to get.

I have one with the holster and 2 mags serial #19xxx without the German stamp. Any value estimates?

It would be inappropriate for me to give you an estimate. You can get a half decent idea of value from gunbroker ads. Sorry I cant be of more help. That would be an amazing addition to my and any collection.
