The ASTRA A-60 is a Spanish pistol based on the Walther PPK. The ASTRA A-60 was produced from 1986 to 1997. Basically, the Astra A-60 is a double-stacked 13-round military version of the more well-known 7-round Astra Constable pistol. The ASTRA A-60 was used by the Spanish Armed Forces. ASTRA’s are known for their quality of design, construction and performance. The real attraction of the compact ASTRA Constable was as a more affordable alternative to the German Walther PPK. Of course, the ASTRA A-60’s larger capacity and having been built to military standards added to its own special attraction. Includes range activity and a demonstration of disassembly and reassembly.

As a fan of all-metal 380 semiauto pistols, I found this review interesting. Currently I have a Beretta 85BB, Sig P230 and a CZ 83 so we are on the same wavelength. I am on the lookout for another gun, but probably won't be seeking out the A-60 for the reasons you outlined. Thanks for reviewing this Spanish pistol. I look forward to more of your excellent reviews. BTW, nice shooting!

BTW, I'm in the process of reviewing the Taurus PT-58 S. It's a 13 round all metal 380 based on the Beretta Cheetah and Model 92. You may find it interesting. This review should be posted early next month.

I own an Astra Constable 22LR pistol almost the same as the Astra 380 I hope you make a video on how to Disassemble and Clean the Firing Pin, Firing Pin Spring and Ejector system of the Slide of an Astra Constable.. which is all we know that the Blow Back system pistol like Walther PPK, Makarov, Bersa Thunder, and Astra Constable are known easy to produce dirt that causes malfunction. .. Luckily, I have a review of a Hege Waffen AP-66 380 coming out on June 3rd, 2024. The AP-66 is actually an Astra Constable by ASTRA with HEGE labeling. Mine came with a broken safety/decocker lever. Although I don't show how I changed out the lever during this video, I can tell you here that it's the same process as many other similar designed pistols. Just push the firing pin into the back of the slide as you twist the lever to release it from the slide. You can then pull it out the side of the slide. There's a detent pin and spring on the right side to deal with, but otherwise it's easy to remove. Getting it back in is the opposite but may require some fiddling. Personally, I wouldn't take it apart unless I really had to replace the firing pin, spring, or as in my situation, the lever itself. I'd just use a good CLP oil to clean it. Hope this helped. I really enjoyed this video since I collect Spanish Astra and Star pistols. I recently picked up a nice Astra Constable for a good price but it is missing the rear sight. The hunt is on for a sight or at least something that will fit and work. Not much out there for parts. I'd be happy to substitute any sight that will fit and can be modifies to shoot to aim.

That's one of my issues with the Astra pistols, finding parts. The good news is that the rear site is dove-tailed. So, try looking for a plastic site (cheaper and easier to work with) from another pistol that might fit with a little filing. I did that with an old pistol I had a while back. Bought this just after the riots in LA. Had a hard time finding an extra mag - I was told this pistol was banned from further imports! Do you have any info about that - or was that misinformation. Thanks!

There are repeated attempts to limit magazine capacity at both federal and at state levels by Democratic lawmakers. High-capacity magazines were banned for 10 years after the Federal Assault Weapons Ban of 1994, which failed to be renewed in 2004 and expired. The ASTRA A-60, with its double-stack magazine would fall under this category. Your state may have such a ban in affect. Thanks for taking the time to comment. Can you tell me my ASTRA-Cons age? Only ID #'s are P8710. I am a fm & 380 recoil is good for my hands/wrists. Plus while fm n now olderall steel a better whipper than poly.

Since 1927 all guns made in Spain are required to have proof marks. So, take a look under the grips for any Spanish proof marks. The one you should look for will be a letter-number combination such as S-1 which translates to 1974. If you find a Spanish date code, you can look up Spanish date codes on the Internet for a translation for year produced. Good luck. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
