I own a 422 6" barrel wood grips with adjustable rear site. I find it enjoyable to shoot. When i used it to qualify for my CPL the range officer asked to shoot it when we were done. He tried to buy it from me after he shot it.

I just picked up my first firearm yesterday, a glock 19 gen 3. In in southern California. For home defense I got the 9mm +P. Will this be OK or will it damage the g19?
@mickmacstabletopreviews8466
@mickmacstabletopreviews8466 22 сағат бұрын
Most say that yes, the Glock 19 is built to handle +P ammunition, but it’s advisable to limit its use to occasional practice. Prolonged exposure to +P loads can accelerate wear and tear on the firearm. That being said, most people are more concerned about over-penetration when considering ammo for in-home defense. @@mickmacstabletopreviews8466 ok, so to be clear as I'm a newbie, the 9mm +P will under penetrate? I thought because it had extra velocity it would over penetrate? So then 9mm hollow point +P is safer for home defense than regular 9mm hollow point?

Several years ago, I went to a gun show locally seeking a good .22LR handgun. after a brief tour of the tables, my choice came down to one of these for 400 bucks and a new in the box (old stock) Taurus revolver a near exact copy of the old .22-32 kit gun for 475 bucks. I settled on the revolver for a couple of reasons, first it was made of real steel, and second because of memories of my father strapping on his little .22 revolver a real Smith 22-32 kit gun to walk his trap lines on the Timber Creek near our farm. Dad's trap line added grocery money to our farm income in winter when money became scarce. I am disabled and it is rare that I get to the range, so to date I have yet to take the little revolver out to do some plinking, I am hoping to get out this summer and take my M1911A1 out to get a bit of exercise as well. Going to have to do that, one of these days....

I prefer a Gen 3 for overall functionality, but with a grip reduction, so that the grip is like a Gen 2 or Gen 5 - with no finger grooves. However, for full sized Glocks, like the 27 or 22, I like the finger grooves on the Gen 3. My favorite Glock of all, is my G23.3, which, as with all .40 cal Glocks, will easily convert to a 9mm or 357 Sig with a simple barrel swap. For the 9mm conversion, you do have to use 9mm Mags, but for 357 Sig, the 40 cal magazine works perfectly. I'm still amazed at how many ppl don't know about the ease of conversion of ALL 40 caliber Glocks. The title to this video is completely wrong. The true "workhorse" of the Glocks, are the 40 cal models, since they can quickly be converted and modified to fit damn near anyone's needs from a semi.

Just wanted to say thanks for the detailed video - probably the best on this particular suppressor, which I'm very interested in due to cost and weight. I was hoping you could provide a little more info on first round pop. I know that you said "minimal", but can you give more info? Is it noticeable? I didn't really notice FRP in your range testing segment, which was surprising to me. Finding data seems very subjective - some people saying it's noticeable while others saying its not but no real numbers to back it up either way.
@mickmacstabletopreviews8466
@mickmacstabletopreviews8466 20 күн бұрын
You are very welcome. To your question -- I have found FRP to be notably louder if the the suppressor is dry and cold, but the shot is still quieter than without. I'm not sure if the FRP is always the same either. Sometimes louder and sometimes not so much. Again, that could just be a result of conditions. That could also be why you don't hear much detail on FRP. I have a friend who says he adds a little moister to his suppressor to reduce FRP. I've never done that because I've been told that it will require cleaning after use. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching. Don't forget to like, share and subscribe. The US M-4 base model is a utilitarian, low cost, Milspec rifle that works. DOD does not buy $1,500 rifles. S&W is a solid US manufacturer that makes a quality product with a good warranty. Just as good as US Military M-4's. Save your money, buy this or the Ruger. Forget "PSA's". I have the "carry handle" sight on mine. GREAT defensive rifle don't waste your money on high end stuff unless you are competing.

Stop catering to the left by calling it a "sporting rifle". It's a semi-automatic ASSAULT RIFLE, same as an M-4 except selector switch has only 2 positions. We have a right to have assault & battle rifles ESPECIALLY after the insurrection on Jan 6. I am a Libertarian and defend my country against all enemies foreign and DOMESTIC. Jan 6 was a coup attempt and some of us won't stand for that. I back the FBI, Military, Police and even Biden (voted 3rd party). Biden is at least stable and not a criminal! Kennedy2024

Thanks. Here's my buying strategy: I maintain a wish-list of firearms of interest, I try to learn as much as I can about them especially their value, I frequent as many gun-shows as I can, I take my time, and I try for "trade-in value" when buying because I'm betting on the seller having a bit less than that invested and it's not an insulting offer. We go from there and I remain respectful, but relaxed and willing to walk away. And I walk away a lot and get turned down even more often. If it's a gun shop, I try to respect that the owner has to makes a profit. If it's an auction, I keep in mind the additional shipping and transfer costs involved. I'll admit I enjoy the hunt, but I'm OK with returning home empty handed -- which is what happens most of the time.

Yet another perfect gun review! And here's some movie trivia about the Astra/Walther. In the classic movie "Taxi Driver" Robert De Niro's character buys guns from "Easy Andy" who seems to get all of his gun facts almost half right. He calls the pistol that's clearly an Astra Constable a "Walther .380". Then call the Smith & Wesson Escort pistol that only came in .22 caliber, I believe, a "Colt .25" . In my opinion that could be explained away by just knowing that illegal street gun salesman might get all of his facts mixed up or brag about brand names his customers might know. But then there's gun continuity issues with the movie as well because at the shooting range the Astra becomes a Walther and the S&W Escort becomes a Sterling pistol. You can watch the video on KZfaq by searching "taxi driver gun buy scene" And read about all the many handguns used in the film by searching on the Internet movie firearms database . org. "Travis Bickle (Robert De Niro) buys an Astra Constable for $150 from "Easy Andy", who not only mistakenly refers to it as a ".380 Walther", but also claims that "during World War II, they used this gun to replace the Walther P38 pistol. "

Nice example of the Beretta. I can remember when these were very inexpensive but today collectors interest is a big factor. It's the same with guns like my 2 Baby Brownings. Finding a new in box condition BB with the pouch many years ago was a 2-300 gun and now I could get 2-3X that for mine and at least 500 for the other in 95% condition.

Maybe you mentioned this and I missed it but I think in one of the James Bond books it's described as having its grips removed, I think theoretically to make it even thinner. You would think someone like James Bond could have some thin plexiglass or thin wood type grips made just to keep pocket fluff and martini stirrers from accidentally getting in there and causing malfunctions.

You are correct and no, I didn't mention it. Indeed, Ian Fleming does portray Bond in his early books as having removed the Beretta's grips and modified the barrel to accept a silencer. However, during the first Bond spy film Dr. No, in the scene where the Beretta is exchanged for the Walther, the Beretta appears to be intact. And note that during this scene the PPK is actually a larger Walther PP. Of course all this is fictional, so liberties are expected. Regardless, thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Thanks for this. My father died a while back and I ended up with one of these in great shape. It’s a 1975 production ( factory 11 ). All what you say is true and I’m proud to have it.
