You could get her the previous game too, Astro Bot Rescue Mission, playable on PS5, so she could play it before this one releases. It's exclusive to the original Playstation VR though, so that's like a $100+ buy second hand, plus you need an adapter for that old model to work on the PS5. It's a shame that game hasn't been ported to the VR2, but the VR2 alone is like $400 dollars still, it's somehow cheaper to buy the old outdated headset for the sake of a couple games, poor planning on Sony's part. The first 2 games have iffy availability on PS5 too. The original tech demo, The Playroom, is still the only PS4 exclusive game in existence, despite all you need to play it being the PS4 camera and controller, both of which are already compatible with the PS5. The Playroom VR, a more fully fledged party game, and where Astro first appeared, requires a PS4 controller and the whole VR1 setup, but _is_ available to play on PS5.

You can tell this is going to be a full fledged game, there’s soo much to unpack in this trailer alone. Astros playroom was a tech demo, but due to how successful it was, they clearly saw an opportunity to make this a full fledged IP and they’re going for it

There's like 3 or 4 games that's feel like this minus roblox, even though that came out in the mid 2000's but it always felt like... something. I have crash games and remastered ps2 games like spyro and Crash, but besides literal ps2 games I have, everything feels... modern. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, just a different vibe

Japan Studio did merge with Team Asobi back in 2021. Though I don’t think the original developers (Team Ico) are still there. Ico & PaRappa also made an appearance.

Asobi probably only started development in mid 2020, so a 4 year turn around is pretty good for a modern game.

Most likely they’ll make a psvr2 version. First version was one of the best games for the original Psvr. Now it’s the best time to buy a psvr2 second hand, nobody wants it anymore lol I’ve got it for 300 dollars
