Ok. I bought one of these - a 8GB Ram / 256 SSD mode. Mine does not have problems like yours. It works quickly. The entire youtube front page loads in 3 seconds (and my internet speed may be a limiting factor). It works quick and snappy for all the things I've done so far (initial updates and setup, installing programs, web use on both Edge and Chrome, office applications). Obviously it's not going to be fast when I get to doing large batch RAW photo conversion and similar things, but I expect it's going to work ok for me. One thing I should add is that my ram usage is nearly always around or over 4GB - just running Windows and maybe one or two really simple programs. Windows alone is 3.4GB!! So, DO NOT BUY THE 4GB version!!!! I can't really understand how ASUS designed, produced, and released a 4GB Windows computer. That's barely enough to run Android or ChomeOS decently

I don't think you can compare the Vivobook with an iPad, most people who buys it wants an tablet that runs windows. A better comparison would be with an surface which are much more expensive.

Thank you for being straight forward instead of sugar coating this product. It's totally unacceptable for a tablet that it cannot properly load a web page. I believe the problem lies with the weak CPU, because a youtube reviewer had a top of the line version (8GB RAM, 256 NVMe SSD). He even plugged in the table; selected "Best Performance" option. The result was the ssame. Loading the youtube home page was like watching a slow motion. It's a very sad tablet.

Such a shame they gave it such a slow processor, was looking good up to then. Was not expecting it to have such low specs. But you are right, an iPad would be a much better buy

Was this one of the early review computers? (I think it probably was because of the fancy box it came in.. I believe that is not the normal retail box) Another reviewer made a second video, noting two things that impacted performance a lot. 1- those review units had a beta firmware version that turned out to really suck. When he got what Asus called a final retail firmware version, the benchmark test performance increased by about 45%. 2-The default settings related to power usage have a lot of CPU throttling in place when the device is used without the charging cord plugged in. You can adjust those settings to increase the unplugged performance level. He said that these 2 changes made a large improvement.

If they go to town with the branding and packaging it's a fair bet the actual product will be disappointing

Not sure why these tablet Windows devices still exist as they are overall poor choices for a tablet. The few niche users that like this design can buy the SP8. Then to have such a weak stand design just makes it seem cheap. At £600 you need to get the most important things right, as Apple and Samsung does, and that is performance. Consumers will buy this for three years plus and then it may go elsewhere for even longer and poor performance makes it a bad user experience that will get worse with time. With the OLED, no doubt ASUS is hoping to sell to the market segment more interested in aesthetics than performance, that is the only reason I can think for selling in 2022 a Windows running eMMC and 4GB RAM with a low-end chip. I agree, do not buy, as OEMS will change if consumers show this is not what they want.

If they knocked this to 399$, it'd be like the old t100 2in1s. As is? Ridiculous. The pro 8 is 889$, and go 3 is 399. Both will outperform this.

Yo I will use this asus vivobook 13 slate oled for watching series and movies because it has dolby vision and 4 dolby audio speakers and a oled screen for nice colors I will not use this for gaming or editing or anything like that think of it as a oled TV replacement it not a bad laptop/ tablet I will get one myself as well
