i dont understand why people say this is a waste of vid, every person can have 8 metal detecters and 8 people will say theres is the best, but truly you cant say that, some of them do better for gold and some do better with coin, what ever you want to hunt then get that one, some do it all but cost way to much and dont do one thing well, me i love to have a nox 800, dont mean that the at max is a piece of crap or this vid, great vid by the way, so just be easy on people making vids on here and showing you what works for them, thanks man and love it

Some people you just can't make happy; it's not their brand, they wanted to make a similar video, your not their buddy. Who knows why.

This is probably the most versatile metal detector ever made. It has modernized target identification plus it has classic gold machine attributes, i.e. all metal mode and threshold!!….

Good video for sure. What about at the beach looking for small jewelry like an earring, etc? Would this work similarly?
@relicdigr4 жыл бұрын
It would work similarly for such a search. Depending on what type of earring it is I could see getting some respectable depth, a stud earring you may not get more than a couple of inches though.

If you can remember, what was the digital readout on the 3" all metal mode around 5:47 in the video?

I do not recall the VDI, realistically when prospecting sound is more important than VDI.

I've heard that when your out looking for Gold the smaller the coil the better... Do you know if this is true, and if so why? Please I'm trying to learn all I can... I'm in my golden years now and would like to try my hand at detecting in general. But some time I want to do some gold hunting... Thank you for any info... Be blessed... BBE..
@relicdigr6 жыл бұрын
Bobby, Yes a smaller coil is typically better for prospecting with a VLF machine. The reason that is that gold is normally found in highly mineralized ground. The smaller the coil the less mineralization that the machine will read. Since raw gold is a low conductive target (lower VDI numbers on machines with an ID), the less of the interference from mineraization the better the signal response from those smaller nuggets.

Hello, great video. Could you please explain to me what general configuration do you put on the AT Max to find gold nuggets? Thank you
@relicdigr6 жыл бұрын
I would suggest the 5x8 coil and then run in all metal.
@MannyScoot4 жыл бұрын
You can go Zero mode and Zero Iron Disc. and Iron Audio and gold will hit real clear.

Have to say, I pre- ordered, and haven't found the first coin, needless to say nor a nugget. Keeps telling me target is @ Max depth and I dig nothing. Any suggestions?
@relicdigr6 жыл бұрын
Just like real-estate, location, location, location. If you are getting falsing it could be EMI or a bad ground balance. Other things to check is the coil wire, make sure you have it tight on the control box. Also check where the coil wire enters the coil, some wires can break at that location.

relicdigr. Do a KZfaq search on your phone or computer to see if theirs any tutitorials for your detector or programs this might show you more or google search.

you need to get the small one to really get the gold but it does work
@relicdigr6 жыл бұрын
I used the stock coil because it is the stock coil. I know the smaller coil would have done better on the nugget, but I wanted to show how the stock coil works on such a target.

Hi ,i want search Nuggets in the River what is the best Setting for the Garrett AT Max???
@relicdigr4 жыл бұрын
I would use, as shown in the video, all metal mode. If you are prospecting get the smaller coil and take your time. Water makes detecting harder, especially river water you get no breaks from the pressure of moving water. Also river detecting can be dangerous, don't go alone.

So whats the difference between all metal mode and zero mode?
@johnnysmith41916 жыл бұрын
The true all metal mode gives better sensitivity and better depth compared to a zero discrimination mode. The zero discrimination mode picks up nearly all conductives in the matrix, the zero discrimination mode has pre-set parameters on both high and low conductors. For most applications, zero discrimination works well, as it is preset to pick up most common sought after targets such as coins, jewellery and many relics. Gold hunters like the true all metal mode, as it gives a sensitivity advantage, especially when combined with a positive change in audio when using the threshold feature. This also gives a depth advantage.
@relicdigr6 жыл бұрын
Johnny did a good job of giving the vast majority of the differences. Some of the others are that zero mode still allows for tone ID while all metal does not. Zero mode still allows you to set a discrimination level, all metal will not. The three Discrimination Modes are less sensitive to small and deep targets than the all metal.

What is the best Detector for search Nuggets in River and on Land ????,
@relicdigr4 жыл бұрын
The machines I would recommend would be the the Garrett AT Max and the Minelab Equinox 800 for VLF machines and if you are looking to go with a PI machine the Whites TDI Beach Hunter. They all will get the job done.

And that is why there is more than one brand and model. We each have our preference in machines. I also have and GREATLY enjoy my MXT (I have owned it since they first came out). But I still love to get out and try new machines to see what it is they have to offer.
