I wish people wouldn’t say that machines like this are for a beginner. This machine has seemingly simple menu and settings. A expert will find that this machine is hiding a huge level of versatility in the performance dept. when he masters the complex relationship between the disc, the threshold, and the sensitivity. Knowing how to set it up correctly at each site is a big deal. It’s got a learning curve more than say the t2 or g2 by a long shot.

@@FindingAlabama you will find it to be a very hot machine. It’s like an old pre dst machine. I can hit a 10” silver quarter at 1 sensitivity and threshold at 9. Craziness. It’s simple on the surface but it’s got very deep interlaced settings of sens, threshold, and disc.
@deltafreshrelics16602 жыл бұрын
@@FindingAlabama try this with it….experiment with disc 0 and disc 1. Check out all the threshold settings with low and high sens. Low or high disc. You can run 99 sens, 9 thresh, and 80 disc and just smack SUPER deep coins. You know, I’ve had a lot of detectors and most of the “top” detectors. The F70/Patriot with that stock coil is the deepest machine I’ve ever tested. I should have kept it longer but I was able to sell it for more than I paid so I did.

i dont understand why people say this is a waste of vid, every person can have 8 metal detecters and 8 people will say theres is the best, but truly you cant say that, some of them do better for gold and some do better with coin, what ever you want to hunt then get that one, some do it all but cost way to much and dont do one thing well, me i love to have a nox 800, dont mean that the at max is a piece of crap or this vid, great vid by the way, so just be easy on people making vids on here and showing you what works for them, thanks man and love it

I would use, as shown in the video, all metal mode. If you are prospecting get the smaller coil and take your time. Water makes detecting harder, especially river water you get no breaks from the pressure of moving water. Also river detecting can be dangerous, don't go alone.

@relicdigr6 жыл бұрын
Just like real-estate, location, location, location. If you are getting falsing it could be EMI or a bad ground balance. Other things to check is the coil wire, make sure you have it tight on the control box. Also check where the coil wire enters the coil, some wires can break at that location.

Thanks for this info. I always wondered how you would fly with your detector. OR do people just go rent one when they get to their destination... So thanks for all the helpful tips. The one question I got is do you think one should put a piece of thin sheet of packing foam between your coils when packing them like they do when you buy them new to help prevent them from rattling together or maybe just a hand towel between them??? Also if I may give you a tip that was given to me... If you hold your phone sideways you will get a full picture and those black block out lines go away. It make a much nicer video. In my personal opinion... Once again thank you for the info... Be blessed... BBE..

@relicdigr6 жыл бұрын

I'm in my golden years now and would like to try my hand at detecting in general. But some time I want to do some gold hunting... Thank you for any info... Be blessed... BBE..
@relicdigr6 жыл бұрын
Bobby, Yes a smaller coil is typically better for prospecting with a VLF machine. The reason that is that gold is normally found in highly mineralized ground. The smaller the coil the less mineralization that the machine will read. Since raw gold is a low conductive target (lower VDI numbers on machines with an ID), the less of the interference from mineraization the better the signal response from those smaller nuggets.
