This meerkat burrow may look simple but actually, the burrows are intricate tunnel systems that can extend for metres under the ground. One burrow usually has around 15 entrances and exit holes, and some stretch as deep as two metres. They are dug by the meerkats themselves using their long, sharp claws and several families can often be found living in the same burrow, away from harm’s way, in one large community.
Grant found this burrow last week and left his GoPro outside for a sneaky look. This is what he found!
