AT23 VA Triple Crown McAfee Knob

Күн бұрынOur scout troop decided to complete the Virginia Triple Crown. They did all the planning and executed all the steps, except driving and using credit cards. They did not plan the weather, but it turned out wonderful too!
Dragon's Tooth was a big hit! Next on the schedule had been McAfee Knob, but overflowing parking lots (expected) led us to Plan B which was to flip up to Lambert Meadows and Tinker Cliffs for phase two. McAfee Knob was saved for last and it did not disappoint!

If you get into your detailed planning, and have questions, let me know. I’ve been there on three trips. Four times total to McAfee knob. Twice on one trip. We did sunset and sunrise. I’ve done the whole Virginia Triple Crown 3 times too. I would have been there last weekend again for a fourth time, but my grandson had basketball tournaments up in Wisconsin. :-) I hiked a couple sections of the Ice Age trail instead.

I get a lot of encouragement by having things planned with the scouts. I get to be outside and I get to be around them. It’s always a good time.

I was really glad when the scouts wanted to return to the Virginia Triple Crown. My new troop is going there next month but I’ll be with my grandchildren so I can’t go with them. :(

😂😂 my husband at Hooters alone once & the flirty waitress was really getting a bit too comfortable. Age difference maybe at most 20 yrs. I guess wanting a good tip or more….my husband is very good-looking at 6’3” & big man plus went on his Harley & it’s a great bike (the back seat is MINE) 😂 finally he told her he was flattered but happily married. She said oh it’s not that, you just remind me of my grandfather! Was she quick & pissed or honestly stupid. Some are just honestly dumbed down

:) It doesn’t happen often anymore, but when I feel uncomfortable in that kind of scenario I mention my wife as part of the conversation. Putting her in the conversation sets the ground rules. I want to avoid even the appearance of impropriety because I like THIS wife. I didn’t like that other wife. :)
