It's so interesting to see the difference between Mango's play through vs Etho's of roughly the same modpack. Mango's slow and methodical approach vs Etho's organized chaos.
@ICountFrom0
@ICountFrom0 Жыл бұрын
Etho was playing a MUCH more chaotic pack. There's no dungeons to explore in this. There's no giants wandering the world, no twilight. No using mob drops to go around quests and get materials. Though, even having said that, yes, mango here seems be MUCH better at being on task.

Etho was playing smth closer to rl craft than to raw tfc. Mango also naturally goes slower I think. Etho edits his vids a lotttt to make them snappier

Etho's playthrough was nowhere near a roughly the same modpack. Even the foundational mod, terrafirma craft, has gone through major changes since that version. TerraFirma Punk is a significantly more adventure-focused, with full factorization being an end goal of the pack. ATFC is entirely about tech age progression, with the only major adventure aspect being looking for resources. They are very nearly exact opposites of modpacks.

If you throw the torch to ignite the logs when making charcoal, you’ll need to physically wait until the fire glyph appears before putting the dirt block back. When you use the fire stick you naturally need to wait until the fire graphic appears to actually light it anyway. Hope that makes sense! X

The drop rates of saplings should be inversely proportional to the number of leaves in the tree, Kapok trees have a lot of leaves, so you need to break more of them to get a sapling on average. I think the expected value is 3 saplings per tree.

I need to make a bloomery, which means I need to smelt more bismuth bronze, which means I need to make another large charcoal pile, which means doing a loop of my tree farm, which means scything the leaves for sapling sustainability. You can already make shears. Anvils need to be same or higher tier to hammer things into different shapes, but for welding you can use materials that are a tier higher than the anvil. So stone anvil is enough to make copper shears.

With agriculture in TFT back when I used to blay, the soil always had 3 type of nutrients, A,B,C. And plant used a different one, so when you harvest you had to cycle so you don't empty the soil of it's nutrients

Hey Ilmango, with your crops there is a slight difference between them! You can put them into barrels, like potatoes and different grains, to make different types of "fermented beverages". Potatoes are used for Vodka. I would also recommend, to make things easier when you harvest, to try to make your same growing time crops planted together in a 3×3 so it's easier to harvest with a scythe. Loving this series!

For the fruit, I’d recommend focusing on the trees and tall bushes as they can spread, and maybe having a few short bushes for emergency nutrition. And I’m not sure if the in-game book says it, but they only produce seasonally, so some of your cold-loving berry bushes (like the wintergreen) probably won’t ever produce, depending on what the temperature is during their season.

Aqueducts are a godsend for farming. Potatoes among other foods have higher nutritional value for their category. Sandwiches are fantastic for nutrition but so are salads, and bowls are more accessible. A sandwich with meat veggies and cheese, paired with fruit salads are the optimal way to go. If you find wild melons it's ridiculously important to get the seeds, because melons take 5 months to expire, whereas other common fruits are done for in 5 days. When getting fruit tree saplings, cut down the 90 degree corner branches. Humus is great for composting. Get a shield when exploring. While the torch trick on vanilla sand does not work in terrafirma, charcoal does; it eases terraforming. You don't need other stone type for the quern, place 3 raw dacite blocks and smooth them with a hammer and chisel. Love your content, keep going!

for harvesting taller trees (if you ever want to) you could build a scaffold around each sampling so that once it grows you can reach the leaves. You can just have a row of saplings spaced out so that you have one line of scaffolding down one side about 8 or 10 blocks in the air and then you can branch in between the trees.

in older versions, Sandwiches were my go to. I could fit a bunch into a vessel, and have me a good adventure. the bread was grain, and you could put cheese, and meats, you could pickle things and add those. and there was a big complex "flavor" that was random rolled for YOU. and so you would add more or less of an ingredient according to what your character liked to eat. I'm curious what this version does.

@@blakeryan7894 Yeah I had great luck with nearby Clay, more than I could ever need, but even in areas that could have copper, I found nothing. This would have been a lot more bearable if TFC didn't make the ground look like a hurricane aftermath. I swear, you could improve TFC so much just by cutting the rock/stick spawns down to 1/10th the rate. There is NEVER any need for the sheer vastness of rocks and sticks, and they just create visual clutter that A. Makes all terrain look a bit uglier and less realistic, and B. Creates visual noise for your eyes to snag on 10 times per second as you search for ore deposits. It's such a huge oversight, something that would be so easily fixed by adjusting a number value, it's astounding that this is still a problem in this ancient mod.
