The east west directions controls the rainfall amounts, so if you want a desert you will need to travel west I believe.

Having just made a 25K block journey I can confirm that this is not the case in ATFC... Relatively similar rainfall the entire way, varying by 1-200mm at most

This is true. Wettest is around 20k west, driest is around 20k east, coldest is around 20k north, and warmest is 20k south.

Magma blocks creating upwards flowing bubbles makes way more sense because the blocks are hot ant warm water would rise. The vanilla system of magma and soul sand always felt like its should be the other way around, especially since soul sand makes you sink down and go slower when you walk on it.

@ilmango The best way I’ve found to find kaolinite is to put your diving gear on and survey the ocean floor. Had found a few very large veins doing it that way.

You've probably figured this out already but you can make a 'real' diamond by using kimberlite in the tfc grinder, then you can make the jukebox. All music disc's are craftable and a fun project

Idea for the lanterns How would it look if you placed them in holes in the walls? like little alcoves for them to sit in here and there.

You can also seal the gunpowder barrels with gunpowder and then carry them so you won't have to carry all the stacks separately

there is a forge mod that allows placing lanterns on the wall, you might want to try that to see if it's included in the modpack

Whoa gunpowder is awesome in this. Imagine what you could do with a good farm that produces all the gunpowder you could ever want. Mining just gets replaced with giant explosions. You can use the schematicannon with it too. You should try it out sometimes.

when mining in a river bed or ocean you can use thatch blocks to block out all the air, and then punch out the thatch leaving the top layer and it will leave an air pocket be careful to leave overlap so thr thatch is larger than the hole opening or it will flood again, I don't know the specifics of how it works but I've used it once or twice to get nugget samples from riverbed early game

To mine underwater you could put three trapdoors in a row on the sea floor/riverbed, open them and then dig a 1x3 vertical shaft down, closing the trapdoors above you.

Actually, rising bubbles in water would pull you down. You'd have less buoyancy because the bubbly water is less dense.

This depends on the ratio of water to bubbles. If the area you are in consists of 80% bubbles (air) you would sink for sure
