another way to make a "smaller than a chest stockpile" for clay (or anything else) is to set output funnel filter to clay and put placeholder items in the chest, so you can balance stockpile amount without any redstone or extra world blocks

If I were in your position there Ilmango, I would've separated the clay and ore generators from one another and gave them their own independant cobblestone generators so neither would interfere with the other and therefore it wouldn't require that upwards-facing smart funnel. Yes it's not nearly as efficient in a few notable ways like stress unit usage, resources, and spacing, but i believe from a functional standpoint it would be worth it. Plus you could always make more windmills, even have some spinning on a vertical axis as opposed to the ones you have spinning on a horizontal axis. Also, you could have a perpetually running setup until the inventory of each filled up to satisfying level by using a stockpile switch hooked up to some redstone or redstone links to a clutch so it can automatically shut the set up down until it needed to restock.

Upward movement is something actually pretty important, it's easy to see how vanilla farms suffer from lack of it, as you mentioned in previous episode. What you can do with the Create mod are lifts made with a column of shutes, with filtered brass funnels on the sides on the levels you want items to leave on, and a single downward facing reverse-powered encased fan on the top. You can fit multiple kinds of items in this lift with a footprint of just 1x1 + whatever you need to get stress to the encased fan on the top, and have both entrances and exits on every level with precise filters for what goes where. I figured this solution out when I've encountered this exact problem you had with the cobble generator, except in my case there was a lot more unpicked cobblestone because bad engineering. Also, encased fans are fun for personal 1x1 lifts. "Beam me up Scotty" kind of thing.

the fan can also go at the bottom
@ImAdonai
@ImAdonai 9 ай бұрын
@@widmo206 Yeah, I meant a case where you need to pull from the top of item vault, as an alternative to upward facing funnel and banking on items being "detected" by the belt above, like he had. You can't use fan at the bottom if you need/want to fit within the vault (or other item sources) footprint. If you're making a vertical bus line instead then you can freely use a bottom fan.

23:15 try filling the basin with water using mechanical arms. Maybe two of them at full speed will be enough. Make a contraption next to the whole clay setup that pumps the water into a spout and mechanical arms would pick up water buckets and drop them off in a basin, then they would take empty buckets and put them under the spout again.
