Looks like a great use for the retro shooter. I have to talk to the Retro Shooter people about replacing one of my guns first and put my ALU back together. Other than one dead gun, I really like that thing!

Bought this kit and absolutely love it! I didn't see any issues when not using the force feedback power kit, and just powering it straight off the box, but I'm going to keep using it just in case. Probably the only gripe is the sensors never turn off, even if the cabinet is off. They just sit there and stay pretty burning hot to the touch at all time. I'm just going to add a simple smart power switch to the main ALU power supply and everything will be fine 🙂 Great work y'all!

Thanks for the kind words! We are going to have an adapter cable available soon that will allow for alternate connection that will power the IRs on and off with the power switch.

@@BuyStuffArcades Thank you for the update! This is super neat. I unplugged my Marque anyway since I use the BitPixel LED so this is a perfect solution. I need to order the four-sensor upgrade kit as well so I can do it all at once 🙂

Not with the Retro Shooter console, but our IR Modules will certainly work with Aimtrak.

Nice mod! Will it work with the BitPixel, and BitLCD dynamic marquees? Maybe this will help those who were unlucky enough to have updated to 5.71, and lost CoinopsX, and Once Sauce. Thanks for sharing this.

Installing this now but have the Quad Play stick which won’t allow for the retro box to be placed in the same manner sadly. Will report back when it’s all installed.

Unfortunately, the Retro Shooter Pandora box does not currently support spinners or trackballs.

Yes, they can be plugged into the Retro Shooter and used like before if you prefer instead of the ALU controls.

*Would I be able to install this set up along with the Yoke and racing unit on the same cabinet? and if so what other parts might I need to get both up and running on one ALU cab?

I purchased the yoke and racing unit first, THEN this setup. In placing the pandora box where they recommended, I’m no longer able to position the yoke and racing unit in the middle of the joystick/buttons area, which is a letdown. I’m going to see if I can reposition the pandora box to the middle, which should allow me to use the yoke and racing unit again.

It would be nice if the cables for the sensors were the same length for the top and bottom sensors. The bottom sensors are needlessly difficult to get connected. Also, for the price, the cable to turn off the sensors should be included.

Can i have retro shooter hooked up. Via the hdmi and left side usb. And can i also have coinops hooked up in the blue color usb. Then can i just push that button on left side just to switch back and forth on the fly between coinops and retro shooter? Or does coin ops need both of those USB inputs to work I have alu version 1.1 Not familiar with how coinops works. Cuz i never hooked it up yet cuz not real good with computer stuff. Thx

CoinOps just needs the one port, so you can have both at the same time and just switch between them.

Your website mentions 4 ir sensors, this only shows 2 that i can see. Im assuming this is an upgrade to match the new 4 sensor retroshooter kits. Where do the bottom sensors go?

We are shipping 4 sensors with every kit now. The bottom ones will need to feed underneath if you are not drilling through the bezel.

There are multiple versions of the ALU from different factories and the distance from the front edge to the kick plate is not consistent between them.

You guys really need to sort your international shipping out, you’re website is quoting $79 to ship a micro sd card to the uk! I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of internationals abandon there carts once the see the shipping prices.

SD cards shouldn't come up at $79 if ordered by themselves, and obviously would be much less. However, International shipping is estimated for the most part and we will refund the difference if it's way off. But many of our items are very bulky and heavy and therefore expensive to ship.

Our kit should work with the ALU 1.0, but you will need to mount and connect it a bit differently. We have not tested it, however, as we don’t have a 1.0 unit.

Pretty cool. Why can't you just mount that little round half dollar looking thing have to be mounted on the plexiglass? Can't you drill a hole in the middle of the wood between the top speakers?

IR lights are fairly directional, so if they are pointing down on an angle from the top, they might not be as accurate. We have not tried yet though.
