ATL: Old Man Winter & Me

The days leading up to Christmas brought wacky weather to most of the country but here in Georgia it came with the coldest temperatures we've experienced in five years. As a matter of fact I was present at Hartsfield-Jackson five years ago for those cold temperatures - back then we also received snow. (You'll find that video under the title "ATL: Snow Blow"). So prepare to bear witness to me freezing my ass off. This video also marks the very first time I use a microphone. Hopefully the new addition to my gear will make my words of wisdom more audible in gusty conditions. Here comes the last video of 2022. What adventures will 2023 bring? Stay tuned & find out next!

At 15:40 that is N517DZ. I flew on that A350 back in September from ATL to LAX. Nice ride, and a nice catch, Matty!

Fantastic as always Matt! At some point those Pink Flamingos on the hill are going to be a selfie spot for AV geeks! ps: Between you out at ATL and the LA Flights brothers braving -4 at JFK...you made my 21 here at JAX seem like balmy beach weather. Have an awesome 2023.

The microphone is good; I had to reduce the volume a bit. I think this video sets a record for getting f*cked in the face and the Astral so many times. You really sacrificed for this one.

Oh god... this gives me bad vibes now. Flew home from christmas and we had to turn back to where we departed after circling around our destination for 20min because of an ice storm/icy runway. Luckily it was only a 45 min flight. Had to wait on a new crew for two hours. Ended up being 4 hours delayed in total. Would've been better to just sit on the airport than sitting on the plane back and forth.

@@thevinylrevolution agreed, I love plane spotting, but some videos are upwards of 40 mins long. Now don't get me wrong, I love jet noises. But sometimes I just can't sit through a 40 min plane spotting video without commentary.

@@finnbilodeau1761 Well, not only that, but not every spotter is 14-years-old or some fart huffer who thinks he’s the greatest videographer since Zapruder. Spotters can be old, loud, with a dash of blue humor… Matt is the working avgeek’s poet.
