Thank you. I've listened to many, many interviews with veterans from the Vietnam era. All are incredible, but none have inspired me to such an extent. You are a credit to your family and country. Again, thank you from over here in the UK. Brilliant and inspiring. Milton, you are a wonderful man.

Welcome home and God bless you sir. Your good humor, attitude and intelligence really come through here. I returned from Vietnam in May of 69 and tried to ignore the entire experience for years. These interviews help a lot.

Very interesting man. Loved his story and the way he told it. My late father served at the same time in Vietnam as him with the 11th Engineer Bn 3rd Marine Div. He helped build the McNamara Line that he mentioned and did some work at Khe Sanh also. One of the few vets I've heard mention "rock apes". I remember my Dad laughing about them. Very thankful for this man and his story.

Mr. Jones, you're incredible. What an inspiring example of the power of Positive Thinking and how lucky you were to find the Marine Corps that shaped this talented young man into greatness. We joined the Corps at a time when it wasn’t cool, but you overcame so much more adversity - most people now have no idea. Keep telling your story. Semper Fi brother.

What a honest man about his teen years. And what an effort he must've made to turn his life around and get back to a better and truer way of life. The war and the streets... he over came those pitfalls. The most HIGH and HIS OWN efforts is what turned his life around. Great story.

Next to the recruiting station in Atlanta across the street I attended law school with Vietnam vets at night who were on the G.I. bill. Even back in 1985 the elite still snubbed Vietnam Vets. I am still amazed when I see soldiers wearing their uniforms on college campuses in "modern times". Shameful American history! Great man. My brother: O.C.S MARINE in 1976.

Mr. Jones is obviously a man with well above-average intelligence. Fortunately for him, he joined the military which was willing and able to give this very young black man a chance to advance himself and also contribute to the Corps. So it worked out for both parties. Considering the opportunities available to young black men at that time, I'm not sure civilian companies would have provided him the same opportunities as the Corps. I also think that Mr Jones's happy childhood had much to do with his view of life in general. He seems almost out of touch with his Vietnam experience. But he wasn't in a rifle squad and apparently was at Khe Sanh before it got bad there.

I agree, although to note, Jim Crow was an invention of government and racist democrats to prevent the hiring and integration of Blacks in the South. The biggest losers were actual businesses, the consumer, and of course the black labour force and the spirit of the Nation

No Vietnam War Story is boring. The guys made it out alive, that's a story itself. I've seen combat, killing someone or watching your fellow soldier die, crying for his life, crying for his mother, is something that never goes away
