In part three of this three-part interview, Al Boemker recounts his time during the Vietnam War, serving in a tank unit. He discusses the importance of mail and reel-to-reel tapes in getting news from home. He reports on a battle his unit was involved in when a friend was killed. He tells of his father, who was a Marine at Iwo Jima during World War II. He describes being wounded for the third time. He relates traveling to Hawaii to meet with his wife for some R&R (rest and recreation). He discusses his decision to leave Vietnam, his last duty post and his homecoming. He details his post-war career and family.
