Cut me some slack, this is my FIRST KZfaq video.
Jan 2022, I'm working on my SECOND KZfaq Video with 8 Versions of my
Ball / Radius Turning adaptor for the Grizzly G0824 lathe.
NOTE: My version #5 & #8 should work on the Atlas lathe.
Hope to release it in Feb 2022??
Here is also a handy Fractional drill chart I made in US & Metric. Over the years using a dozen or more Drill / Tap / Screw charts, I decided to make a ONCE SIZE FITS MOST chart for most of your home applications. Feel free to pass it along to your friends.
Fits on 8 1/2 x 11 paper. For durability, you may want to print it out on PHOTO or CARD STOCK Paper.
GARAGE HACK: Once printed, spray the paper chart on both sides with ' Dry Lube spray', Iet it dry to a white powder coating. Once dry, simply WIPE of the white power and you have a water proof paper with improved durability.

i replaced the belts on my atlas 10f with the adjustable link belts and they work perfectly. they also cut down on vibration. the lathe actually runs smoother with them. at first i only changed the belt for the motor to countershaft the inner belt was fine. the lathe seemed quieter and smoother so i replaced the inner belt which was fine it was just super old being the original. changed that one also and the results were really great. i highly reccomend them

My brother-in-law saved one from getting scrapped and gave it to me. It's grimy & looks pretty beat. As I started cleaning it up I thought, how the heck am I going to replace that dried out vee-belt? Well, now I have some very clear guidance. THANK YOU SO MUCH !!!

Thanks I had wondered why the back gears would fall out of my lathe when I tried to use them the ball and spring must be missing.

They have link belts,,,much easier and smoother running and you don't have to go through the Hell of taking spindle apart,,,25 dollars and 5 minutes.

Robert, great video, very helpful. If you still have this machine, can you tell me the width and height of the original Atlas data plate shown at the beginning of the video? I have the artwork done to make a replacement for a lost tag but don’t have to measure for scaling the photo I traced. Thanks!!

After restoring the Lathe I used it for a while then bought a Grizzly G0824 and gave the Atlas to my son. He lives 80 Miles away, but I am going to his house the 3rd week of Aug 21 so I'll get some photos for you. An other follower wants photo / Video of the Quick Change Gear box that came with the lathe and I hear never had one???

Hi, where did you find a Gear Box for Threading that fit the Atlas 618? I didn’t know that was even available on these Lathes. Is it some kind of Aftermarket item? I would really appreciate any information.

Sorry I don't own the Lathe anymore, I bought a Grizzly G0824 and quite happy with it.

Robert is that a QC gearbox on your 618? Did you make that?

I'm not the original owner. As you can see I got this cheap due to condition. I did disassemble, clean, adjust, replace old wiring, put an OFF/ON Switch on the front and then put back together better than I got it. I did NOT add anything except for the tool post and front switch. I gave it to my son and went out and bought myself a Grizzly 14" x 40" lathe.

Robert OBremski the 618 was never available with a QC gearbox is why i was asking and I’d be very very interested in seeing some pictures of the QC gearbox on the lathe

Yes, it came with the lathe.. I gave this one to my son and I bought a Grizzly Gunsmith Lathe.

There's a so much easier way,,it's called a link belt,,,so much better runs smoother and you don't have to take anything apart,,,25 dollars and takes 5 minutes to install
